MUFG Union Bank review: Closing of account

My name is Sharon Nichols, the daughter of Isiah Nichols who has had dementia for the past six years, and who is alive and well. On 9/14/22, a search warrant was served on Union Bank located 18616 Gridley Rd., Artesia, California regarding account documents on behalf of Isiah Nichols and Margaret Lauless (now deceased) due to Elder Financial Abuse. Said account were frozen when the search warrant was served until 01/23. After Margaret died the freeze was lifted due to her dying. On 3/2/23, I was notified that the freeze was lifted off said account. On 3/6/23, I went to Union Bank located at 5910 South St., Lakewood, CA,90713 to inquire about the remaining balance of the account, I spoke with Branch Mgr., Franklin Lee about my concerns of Isiah Nichols account. Mr. Franklin asked me if my father is still alive and where did he live; thereafter, Mr. Lee left his desk to talk with his manger. Mr. Lee stated that the account was closed, and he gave me the name of Branch Manager Seid Humed who closed the account. Seid Humed works as Union Bank Manager located in Beverly Hills 9460 Wilshire Blvd. On 3/8/23, I went online to make an appointment with Sied, I waited for a week to hear back which I did not get a call back. On 3/20/23, I drove to Union Bank in Beverly Hills to speak with Seid to inquire how and why my father declared decease when he is alive and well. Seid gave me a story about when people die the account can be closed and he was not at liberty to further discuss the account with me because someone else has the authority to close the account.

I shared with Seid that I knew who closed the account which is the conservator of the estate and finances; yet, still asking what documentation was provided to Union Bank to show that Isiah Nichols was deceased. Seid replied that he could not share information about the account. On 4/5/23, I drove back to Union Bank in Beverly Hills with my father to speak with Seid and to show him that Isiah Nichols is well and alive; on said date I spoke with Sr Rep Dylan Yerelekian about my concerns with the closing of Isiah Nichols who was declared deceased to close the account which I do understand that there is a fiduciary of the estate and finance. Dylan printed documents about the account and went to speak with Seid. Seid came out of his office to speak with me about my concerns of declaring Isiah Nichols deceased which I understand about the fiduciary; thereafter, I introduced Isiah Nichols to Seid and stated to Seid that this is Mr. Isiah Nichols who has been declared deceased. Seid provided me with the case number of the search warrant that was served upon Union Bank back in September 2022, and Seid told me that the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department gave authorization to close the account. I explained to Seid the case number provided has nothing to do with closing an account but served as a search warrant on the account. Seid stated that I should go to court because there is nothing further to discuss. Thereafter, my father and I left the bank without answers and to show proof that Isiah Nichols is alive and well. I do understand that I am not at liberty to obtain information on Isiah Nichols account; however, I am pleading with Union Bank to provide me with documentation on how Fiduciary Norine Boehmer closed Isiah Nichols, and if she declared Isiah decease to close the account. I have concerns about the mishandling of the finances of Isiah Nichols; I reported my concerns to the social security administration who has made me payee of Isiah's monthly benefits instead of the fiduciary. I want to file a petition with the Los Angeles County Superior court to gain control over my father's estate and finances. Isiah Nichols have dementia and over the past 6 years has tremendously suffered Elder Financial Abuse from Margaret Lauless, and other parties involved who has control over his estate and finances.
