*** fixed my dishwahser issue after submittin a claim thru our home warranty
fixed my dishwahser issue after submittin a claim thru our home warranty. Communication issue at first due to our account havin the wrong number on the home warranty. Nitin was easy to work with and completed the work quickly after the part arrived. It took a couple weeks after orderin part but understand the delays in shippin. Would recommend.
ZERO STARS!
ZERO STARS! Very unprofessional. They don't follow through with their appointments and never call to say they can't make it. They have missed multiple appointments to fix my appliances. I wouldn't recommend them and I wouldn't let them in my home. The only reason I had to deal with them was because of my home warranty, trust me, I wouldn't call them if they were the last people in the business. Horrible. Stay away!
Ray-One was hired by my home warranty company for a washer repair
Ray-One was hired by my home warranty company for a washer repair. He came out to our home (spent less than a minute looking at our washer) and said it would need to be replaced. He collected his service fee and left within 5 minutes. The warranty company found that the part for repair was available, ordered it, and sent to Ray-One to install. Ray-One did not return any of my multiple messages to request an update on when repair could be scheduled. I involved the Home Warranty Company again today--more than 3 weeks has passed. They were able to connect with Ray by phone but he is REFUSING to do the repair because it is too time consuming! It was certainly not too time consuming for him to show up in his Tesla and collect our $100. I am now 3 weeks with a broken washer and will have to wait for a new contractor to be sent, part to be ordered again, and then the repair to be completed. He seemed like a nice enough guy, BUT in my opinion, RAY ONE IS NOT REPUTABLE AND YOU SHOULD AVOID THIS COMPANY!
Complaint about Universal Appliance Repair/Ray One and Total Home Protection on 5/9/22 regarding a non-cooling fridge
Dual complaint of Universal Appliance Repair/Ray One and Total Home Protection on 5/9/22 regarding a non-cooling fridge reported; weeks of delays to get a technician. UAP was assigned after a failed virtual diagnosis. The fridge had been nonfunctional for over 3 weeks when two UAR technicians arrived in a white van 2 hours late after multiple texts. The technicians, of Indian descent, seemed disinterested in discussing the issue. I stayed nearby to answer questions. They removed and replaced the back panel without communicating with me. A new part was to be ordered for a future repair. Days later, I was informed the part would arrive Friday. However, on Wednesday, the technicians unexpectedly showed up at 7 pm. They claimed to install a part from the front of the fridge, but it still didn't work, and they left abruptly. I sent several texts asking if they could fix it and when. UAR refused to address my questions, directing me back to SPW, claiming they were not servicing my appliance. SPW redirected me back to UAR. Three weeks after UAR's last visit, SPW claimed the fridge was infested with roaches, thus voiding the warranty, but provided no evidence. I saw no roaches while present during repairs. Other technicians suggested this was an excuse for inadequate repairs and the warranty company's reluctance to pay. Both companies are incompetent and should be avoided. They take your money and leave you with unresolved issues. The warranty stipulates replacement if not repairable, unless they find a reason to void it. A service fee was paid. UAR doesn't recognize their clients. Their responses to complaints show a lack of responsibility and professionalism. SPW exhibits similar behavior. The combination of these two companies is problematic. UAR also lacks cultural competence.
Ray needs to be stopped but unfortunately warranty companies are enabling him and letting him prey on unsuspecting and trusting people
Ray needs to be stopped but unfortunately warranty companies are enabling him and letting him prey on unsuspecting and trusting people. Ray came out after the gas company identified a gas leak through a valve on the furnace controls. *** sent out Ray, who was 2.5 hours late outside of his stated window with no communication. Ray spent ten minutes looking at the furnace and was clearly out of his depth. Of note, his website makes no mention of furnace repairs, so I'm not sure why the warranty company used him. Ray then said he knew what the problem was and would order the part and submit it to the warranty company. He then asked for a $150 check for the deductible, which I foolishly gave him. The warranty company does make the customer responsible for the diagnostic fee or fee for coming to the property initially, but they said their policy is not to have the customer pay the contractor beforehand. I am sure Ray knows this as he has pulled this trick before in other reviews. Did not hear from Ray again for weeks. It is now October and cold, and I can't use my furnace. Called and texted him multiple times with no response, except for once where he said he was waiting on the warranty company. They said it was not true and they were looking for more information from him. Finally got this straightened out and scheduled him to come back. He gave me a window of *** on a Monday. 5pm I had not heard from him and had to reschedule. He blamed it on another customer. He came back the next day finally on time. He spent 5 minutes in my basement and had me come down, saying he had fixed the problem. He said he had tightened a pipe and there was no leak anymore. He had a *** Amazon gas detector, and it did not show any gas, so I believed him. Didn't have any choice, he clearly didn't know what he was doing. Mind you, he submitted a diagnosis and then ordered a part because he said it was a different problem initially, but he was content that twisting a pipe 30 degrees was a reasonable service for 150$. Luckily, I called the gas company out again, and of course, the problem was not fixed. There was still a leak. A real furnace company came out today and quoted me $495 to replace this valve. They apparently didn't think a half turn on a pipe would solve the issue. I texted Ray asking him for my check back, and he replied that I wasn't playing fair and said I was trying to manipulate him and the warranty company. He didn't like that I was communicating with the warranty company about how terrible he was. Please don't use him. He is a thief.
This company was sent out via my Home Warranty Company
This company was sent out via my Home Warranty Company. Ray is very unprofessional, rude, and disrespectful. First, I explained to him that my freezer isn’t freezing, and the icemaker is dripping water and not making ice. Then he asked to use my bathroom, of course you can. Once he returned from the restroom, he then removed my deli drawer, then took his thermometer and said, "Oh, your fridge isn’t keeping its temp." (Well, okay, I know this is why I called because the freezer is not freezing and the ice maker is dripping water and not making ice). He said all he had to do was add a new defroster (something), then he tried putting my deli drawer back in and he breaks it and places the parts on my kitchen table. Then he said, "Your warranty company will get you a new one." I said, "Sir, no they won’t and plus it wasn’t broken when you arrived." Then he said if they don’t replace it, he will. Okay, so many days pass and I didn’t hear from Ray. So, I received a denial email about the deli drawer, so I explained to them (warranty company) what happened. They called him and he admitted that he broke it. So, then many days pass again, and I called Ray One left a voice mail asking when he was coming to repair my fridge since it was approved. Well, Ray texted me and said, "Is it true they approved the repair (labor/part)?" I texted back and said yes, but not the deli drawer since it was your responsibility. Then he called me. Wow, I am so happy I answered on speaker phone, this man (Ray) was rude and saying that he was just going to put my deli drawer on my porch., and I needed to get someone else to do the repairs because I spoke with the warranty company about the deli drawer. Well first I received an email about the denial, and I needed to explain the situation. Oh, my was he angry and I have no clue why. He broke it not me SMH…. My friend overheard him and now nasty he was speaking to me. All I was asking was when can he come out and do the repair, and he just kept being very rude. Once my friend, which was a male, spoke and said, "Sir, she is not being rude we just asking when will the repair take place." This is when he became even more rude to him and then he wasn't saying anything and became totally silent and said he wasn’t speaking anymore and said my deli drawer will be on my porch. Well, being the person I am, I wanted to know what in the world happened. So, I reached out again via text and said, "I don’t understand why you were rude to me, and where the misunderstanding took place, but all I want is my fridge fixed please sir." Welp, he came back days later at 7 pm at night I spoke (said hi) when I opened my door, he did not acknowledge me at all as if he didn't understand the words HI. Ray just walked in, didn't look my way, didn't say one word, and went straight to the kitchen. Once he was finished, I specifically asked if everything would work properly. He said yes, give it at least 7 to 8 hours. So, I did, and I woke up the next morning with water all over my kitchen floor, water just steady dripping from the icemaker. I texted him back and he was rude again saying that I didn’t defrost the fridge, etc. I showed him his text when he texted me, which was that morning at 8 am, and he said, "Remove the food, open the door, and unplug the fridge." I did as he asked and he said, "Yah yah, that’s right." I have sent several texts with videos showing the leak, and I did again as he asked, left the icemaker on with a glass catching the water. NO RESPONSE….. SMH…… Still not a properly working fridge so the warranty company is sending another company and I have to pay another service fee because now he's saying it's my icemaker LOL….. but yet when he arrived the first time I explained to him icemaker leaking water, not making ice, freezer not freezing. Still not fixed. I have never done a ComplaintsBoard.com complaint, but sorry Ray One LLC must get one. Because of his disrespectful attitude and not fixing appliances. We as customers rely on honest people to come into our homes to fix and complete a work order, who have these different trade skills. All we ask is that when you do this, be honest, be trustworthy, and be respectful. It’s not much to ask. If we didn’t need your services, we wouldn’t call. ONE STAR IS TOO MUCH.

Had a problem with my Samsung fridge, water leaking into veggie trays
Had a problem with my Samsung fridge, water leaking into veggie trays. On 04/07 I called Samsung service but they couldn't help for 2 weeks. Asked Samsung for another provider and they gave me Ray-One. Called Ray and he said he knew the problem and could fix it next day. On 04/08 he came, installed part, and I paid $290.95. Two weeks later, water leaked again. Called Ray, he came on 04/23. He said the part was bad, replaced it for free. Reached out to Ray on 06/18, he said contact Samsung for warranty. I explained no warranty, no response. Few days later, I asked again, he said get Samsung to do it. Samsung came on 07/02. They said wrong part was installed, causing water to drain. Paying Samsung $200.00 for correct part and labor, they guarantee work. Asking Ray-One for $290.95 refund for bad parts and service. Ray never gave receipt or guarantee. Asked for refund multiple times, no resolution. Others have same feeling in reviews. One review said "0 rating if possible" - very telling.
On 9/24, I got a call from Columbia gas company telling me there was a leak in my furnace
On 9/24, I got a call from Columbia gas company telling me there was a leak in my furnace. They said it was in the "controls" within the control panel. My warranty company found this contractor. He spent about 5 min looking at the problem and said he needed to order a part and that the repair would cost around 400-500$. He didn't give me an invoice or receipt. He asked for the $150 deductible for the warranty company. I later found out that they don't ask for the deductible, only the service fee or diagnostic fee. Unfortunately, I didn't know this and paid him. I'm pretty sure he knew this because there are other reviews where he did the same thing. I tried contacting him for weeks to figure out what was going on, and finally, he scheduled a time for the repair. However, he was almost 4 hours late for the appointment. When he finally showed up, he spent another 5 minutes in the basement and said it was fixed. He claimed he had twisted a pipe and there was no more leak. I didn't have the knowledge to verify his work. He DID NOT fix the part he initially diagnosed and supposedly ordered specifically for the job. He just tightened the pipe and left. The next day, on 10/25, I called Columbia Gas again, and their employee said the problem was still not fixed and the part still needed to be replaced. I found another company to do the repair because *** clearly didn't know what he was doing and was out of his depth with furnace repairs. When I informed him that the gas company said the issue wasn't fixed, he didn't respond or try to schedule another visit to properly fix the problem. I asked him for a refund since he hadn't done anything or fixed the problem he claimed to have diagnosed. He refused and accused me of trying to manipulate him. The new furnace company immediately diagnosed the problem, and it will cost nearly 500$ to repair. I'm convinced *** had never dealt with issues like this before and was just pretending to know what he was doing. He shouldn't be allowed to keep taking advantage of people.
