We paid off our camper loan 7 months ago and were informed that we had a refund due on our GAP insurance. We were informed the dealership needed to complete paperwork for the GAP insurance indicating the loan was paid and we would in turn be issued the refund from US Bank.
We never received anything as of 4 months ago, so contacted Us Bank customer service. After several calls back and forth we were informed the dealership never sent them a check for the GAP insurance refund. We were informed by the dealership that they sent US Bank a check for the refund and sent US Bank a copy of the cancelled check. After several other calls, we were requested to send US Bank a copy of the check sent by the dealership. Now, we have been told that there is an investigation going on regarding the payment sent to us, which is ridiculous as they have the resources to see if the check they supposedly sent was paid, issue a "stop payment" and reissue our refund. We are thinking they are purposely trying to frustrate us to the point we just throw in the towel and let the money stay in the bank. They are the most inefficient bank we have ever dealt with and their customer service is sorely lacking. The actual GAP insurance refund isn't of any great amount, but at this point it has become a matter of principle. Desired outcome: We just want the refund of the GAP insurance owed us
