In the summer of 2017, I purchased my first new Chevy Silverado LT from Central Chevrolet in Jonesboro, Arkansas. I have always owned Dodge trucks in the past and thought that I was taking a step forward by purchasing a Chevrolet. Needless to say, I have taken in my truck for a recall already and just found out that there are 3 more recall notices on my truck while researching my problem on the internet today. I have not been notified of any of these recalls as of yet. Now to my problem. I drive about 90 miles per day back and forth from work. My truck just rolled over 39K miles and of course now I have a brake issue as soon as my warranty has run out. My brake pedal started getting very stiff at low speeds, both in forward and reverse. I almost hit a vehicle while pulling out of a bank because my brakes had failed. I took it straight to a mechanic in the small town where I work. He told me that he thought it was a defective brake vacuum pump and maybe the brake booster. I have researched online and found several websites where people have complained about the brakes on their Chevy trucks failing. My problem is that I have just retired from the military and have transitioned to a much lower paying job and can't afford a huge service bill for something that I feel is a defective part. Unfortunately, I have to have a vehicle to get to work. I'm afraid to continue to drive this truck for my own safety and the safety of those around me. The service department at Central Chevrolet told me that it would cost $100 just for a diagnostic test and the research that I have done to fix the brake problem would cost well over a thousand dollars to fix. Hopefully, you can look into the brake issues and find a solution. Thank you for your time, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Same problem with my 2015 Silverado 1500 I have almost sunk my truck into the lake launching boats and about rear ended a car at a stop light but turned into a curb to stop. Same thing happens as yours pedal gets hard and brakes just don't stop at slower speeds, Mine has been to at a GM dealership 3 times to get told that there was nothing wrong and that's how its supposed to be, But now on the 4th appointment they agreed that somethings not right, and are wanting to charge me $950 dollars to fix I told them im not paying when the first time I brought it to there attention warranty was so close, I feel your pain spend 34k on a new truck and short time later spend a lot of money to repair and mine was just about 8K past warranty i bought a new truck so i didn't have to spend a lot of money on repair bills right away!
Hopefully GM realizes this major issue
before someone dies!
