Hank's Fine Furniture - Love Seat Delivered Broken

It is now going on 2 months or more that I called to inform the store manager of my furniture being damaged. They sent a technician out and he stated that the furniture was not fixable. I constantly emailed the store, and the guy stopped responding to my emails. I also called numerous times with no call backs. I finally went into the store and was told that the store manager was out on vacation and that they would issue a store credit, once the manager return that I would hear from him. That was two weeks ago without a phone call or explanation.

Desired outcome: Refund me my money.

I wish I would have seen this complaint board before going into the Hanks in Jonesboro Arkansas after church on October 1st to buy a Stressless recliner their manager was very unprofessional and he really needs to be sent to school of Business to learn how to interact with customers. They don't train their sales people they just push them to make sales anyway they can! After reading some of the complaints on here all I can tell you for sure is the young people feel like staying after them if you're over 65 and especially if you're over 65 and sick do not enter into a Hank's Furniture store they will definitely abuse the elderly people they did me! They tried bullying me and everything else they charge me $2,100 for recliner that they had in their store they didn't have me charged for it when I talk to Synchrony Bank the morning of Oct. 7th and a Stressless dealer out of Orlando Florida that confirmed I was correct on my figure and I told Hanks I wasn't going to pay for it especially something I didn't have it or the one I bought and I tried three times to call that manager on Saturday Oct. 7th trying to create a win-win situation which is impossible with the manager of Jonesboro Arkansas Hank stores and I really hate that because I knew Hank personally and I used to buy furniture form him in 1996 and Hank built that business by hard work if he told you something that's the way it was going to be now they'll tell you anything just to be able to sell you something you don't want they don't tell you once they get your Social Security number then they open an account in your name I don't even have a synchrony credit card number just the last four digits of SS when I called them Saturday morning they pick up an account in my name from my phone I was calling from after speaking to synchrony and they said they haven't charged you anything yet I'll said well I don't want them to and he said well if they try to you'll just have to dispute it. If I hadn't been so sick I would have just told the gentleman no I want to cancel it right now before they're able to charge me anything but I'm sick and slow thinking now! I tried to speak to the manager at three different times second time he hung up on me and that's a no no when you're old and sick like me! They don't tell you they're going to open a credit card in your name and you don't even have an account number to it tell you you're on your own and three times he kept lying on himself the first time he said I could exchange it for another one for $600 more though he was getting $400 of that 600 from Stressless I said no I'll bring 200 more and take one of the three large ones you have in stock when I really wanted a med I'll take one of your largest $100 more for a large and I00. more on the base upgrade he just said no and hung up on me. The third time I called I was trying to explain to the receptionist my illness and how it affects my brain sometimes when the blood and the gadolinium get through the brain part and they get to fighting for oxygen and all of a sudden he come up on the line and said I am the manager no refunds no exchanges and hung up so then I was done I was so upset I couldn't get out of bed for church Sunday and then I couldn't get out of bed Monday, and Tuesday it was Wednesday before I saw oh my God you better get up and call synchrony and see if he charged that to you sure enough he did on Saturday afternoon late I had to file dispute on it and she sent me a link and said send us some more pictures and evidence and I don't have an account number so I couldn't register for the link and they wouldn't get in our account number over the phone. The only person that has my full account number is Hanks! I was so stressed out is the worst thing for my illness if I want to keep living! but I paid $100 more for a large and I would pay $ 100 more on the base second time I tried to talk to him and explain to him what was going on because his salesperson and him they certainly didn't know why the computer kept trying to charge me $100 more it becausewas because of the base was $500 like I said they were getting a $400 upgrade on it. They when harassing and downright abuseing me I wouldn't have taken it but I really wanted a stressful because I have a fatal illness called GDD disease and my whole right side is in pain all the time from my hip all the way to my ankle! they went ahead and charge it to me after I told him I was not going to pay for it and Synchrony Bank has to file a dispute because they charged me $2,100 later on Saturday when I told him I wasn't going to pay for it because the second time I talked to him he just said nope we're not going to exchange it and we'll charge you 25% recycling fee! Then the third time he said we do no exchanges and no returns most funny to me you're going to exchange it for $600 then you were going to charge me a 25% restocking fee and then you said no I'm not paying $500 for something I don't have then and charge me $2,100 for something I don't have the sad part is was talking to the salesman out of Orlando Florida is only going to chsrge me $150 more to get it shipped here and he just couldn't understand why Hanks wouldn't accept the my offer to exchange a medium with a regular bass to a large with a upgraded base and I was going to pay them exactly what that was the charge was for the large for the $200, the salesman out of Florida is going to sell me my medium ones like I wanted but the upgraded base for $ 2299 the same I would have been paying Hank's Furniture. And he could get it to me in a couple of days he only had two in stock and I didn't really like the colors and I hate to pay that much for something even if it's comfortable and it doesn't go with any of my Decor in my apartment. I want to set it in and be comfortable and not throw up cuz I hate the color! But he said we'll I'll just order you one in a sand with the upgraded base in the medium save you $100 from Hanks price only I have to charge you $150 to deliver it but there won't be any sales tax which brings me to another thing about Hanks! They say their fall special or Columbus Day special is we will pay your sales tax Hanks grandsons advertise that on TV! But that's a lie or a marketing gimmick and I don't think the fair Credit counseling would like the fact that what they really do is make a deal with you then they go in and change the numbers around and give you a discount off that and show you paying sales tax because if they didn't they had to pay the sales tax on it which I don't know why they don't want to I guess it's eight and a half percent more and they figure they don't have to give you 8.5% discount. I talked to the gentleman in Orlando today and said go ahead and order me a Med in sand with a brown base in that Medium Admiral with the upgraded base. Even though he told me it would be 6 weeks he offered me several colors which Hanks lied about that they said you only came in the sand color and they didn't offer. I was hurting so bad today I told the gentleman in Orlando I didn't know if I could wait six weeks I might have to take that time when they have out there although I've never liked him in a car interior let alone in the chair I wanted the same color cuz it's like off what he understood what I was talking about and tried to get one out of a friend in Atlanta Georgia but he couldn't do it so I might call him tomorrow I'm hurting so bad I need to take that cognac or that Sandy's car and tell him to get it to me in 3 days I'm hurting and I'll do my 6 months 0% interest and pay it off before 6:30 so his fines and coming and I'm sure he wouldn't mind showing me the contract outside I can sign them online just as easy I'll borrowed money on my car to your store online and never went into the lending Institution signed everything online anyway it's so sad I'm having to go through all this stress when Hank's here has three of those largest in the base I want in the color I want for 2,299 and they're supposed to pay the sales tax! They have three of them they want to get rid of and stock! I don't understand it maybe corporate office might want to rush this up here because that's crazy they won't say anything like that I promise you America's coming to not being in God we trust to be in in the dollar We Trust! Don't buy anything at Hank's Furniture things have been going downhill since he met his wife and 1997 she wanted his business they ended up married had left 20 years on an island in Florida which more power to him I'm happy for them but they shouldn't have left their stores start being run like this! I was in business all my life I ran a big transportation company I know all about how you negotiate and take care of your customers and then they'll take care of you and they won't need to complaint board okay I said my piece but I'm not sure one day I won't have a good day after I do get my recliner in the wrong color that I won't contact the consumer Fair Credit Reporting Agency in the justice department in DC. I reported Bank of America back in 2019 for doing a predatory modified mortgage loan on me making my payments go up 120 a month and the credit Reporting Agency investigated it and Bank of America got to the bottom of it quickly anyway there again morning don't go in a hank store it's not Hanks anymore!
