Terrible. When making an appointment for family the employee repeatedly attempted to schedule braces appointments after being told no. First appointment - communication was rushed. I repeatedly told staff I would pay that day and they told me to wait. Within 24 business hours I had collectors calling me even after a staff put a note on my file. I had to repeatedly communicate that the account was not past due and that I had attempted to pay day of service. Second appointment - waited 3 hours for one child to begin services and 1 1/2 hours for other child. The children only received part of the services I was told they would be getting the week previously. I asked Dr. Jhala why I was told they needed 1 more appointment to complete treatment but was now being told multiple visits were necessary and Dr. Jhala yelled at me in front of my children yelling that I didn't ask and I should only listen to information from them and the other dentist. As a patient I expect to have a treatment plan with all information communicated, not told misinformation and not yelled at for being unknowledgable. Dr. Jhala then yelled at staff wanting to know who told me 1 more visit within range of patients. Had I known the persons name I wouldn't have told them anyways because Dr. Jhala claims we should only listen to them as the dentist so the dentist should do their job and communicate thoroughly with patients instead of patients grasping to any rushed communications they can get. A dental assistant communicated during the appointment that there was only 1 dentist on staff and that corporate had booked too many patients without considering what services those patients needed. During the appointment I heard Dr. Jhala yell at a second patient after being told to wait 1 more hour after waiting 3 hours. I also overheard the dental assistants say that Dr. Jhala wanted ALL of the assistants to take lunch at the same time - a time that coincided with the time range of my childrens treatment. I can understand that Dr. Jhala was overwhelmed - however I also know that they should be capable of fully communicating patient treatment plans and reviewing upcoming appointments to cancel/ reschedule as needed for service times instead of blaming patients and dental assistants. I do not think it's a coincidence that Dr. Jhala is not listed on the location website as she has truly terrible customer service skills and lacks professionalism. Honestly thinking I should have walked out with my children numbed and untreated. At the end of the visit a dental assistant came out with treatment information. I communicated that Dr. Jhala told me to not listen to anyone but the dentists but Dr. Jhala was unavailable to do their job.
Claimed loss: 4 hours of time, children's trust in dentists, emotional distress
Desired outcome: I would like Dr. Jhala's license to be revoked but that may be excessive. A formal in person and documented apology to my family, the other patient, and the staff.
