I have been waiting since Covid-19 quarantine to be lifted in order to get my hair done. I had originally had an appointment for the Friday, just after quarantine in California was put into place. Since the re-opening, I called to make an appointment, but was told to make an appointment on-line, which I did. Unfortunately there were few available so I booked two appointments as I needed two different things done to my hair. First a long overdue haircut was scheduled for July 8th, 2020 @ 11:30 am; this resulted in a 15 minute appointment. And a second appointment for July 9th, 2020 @ 11:30 am for an all over bleach or highlights, whichever Rosalie - the stylist, thought was needed. The second appointment was a 45 minute block.
Today I called in to the salon to confirm and was told that I had come in earlier in the morning and per the manager Rosalie my second appointment was moved to a different stylist, changed to the earliest appointment (9 am July 9, 2020). I was not notified by email or phone call that my appointment was cancelled!
Fantastic Sam's allows a client to book two (2) appointments at a time. I was not notified of the change, nor was I asked. This is frustrating and extremely disappointing as I have been waiting for months for this appointment, and as I was originally scheduled for an appointment just before quarantine. I was told at that time to not worry because I would get one of the first appointments available. They must have been joking because obviously I can barely get one 15 minute appointment for a significant cut and bleach job.
I am flying cross country on the 21st of July to attend a family funeral. It was very important to me to look appropriate for such an event. Now I will have to start over to find someone that can work with long curly hair that has grown enough virgin roots over the time span that I could very literally cut off all the old hair and never have to get processed again.
There is no resolution that this salon can extend to me as I will not employ them for another job, nor will I provide recommendations, and in fact have every intention of posting this on every social platform that I can.
