On February 19th, 2023 I noticed a charge of $15 from Planet Fitness that was unusual since I had just joined the club in January and it is supposed to be $10 a month which I was also charged. I called on February 19th and spoke to one of their employees who said that it was a late charge that must have been a mistake and that the manager would call me back in the next day or so. A week later I had not heard back from anyone and I called again and was told they did not see the late charge in their system. I confirmed I was charged and not refunded this price. I was put on hold and then was told that my annual membership dues did not go through because of a mistake in the system. I was told they would remove the late charge if I came in and then and to correct the membership fee. So I went right in and then gave my card for the membership fee and to get the late fee removed. My card was charged for the membership fee and then I was told they have no ability to give back late fees and could give a month free instead. I told them that does not cover the $15 late fee since a month would be $10. I am told only their corporate office could offer a refund. It is absolutely ridiculous that a company requires customers to track down someone in their corporate offices to deal with billing adjustments that they caused and claim you need to contact the corporate offices. I was also told the owner/general manager was going to call me to straighten this out. That was almost a month ago. Planet Fitness needs to refund me the $15 dollars for the mistake that was made.
Desired outcome: Planet Fitness of Vernon CT needs to refund me the $15 it wrongfully charged.
