Unlimited Vacation Club - Refund of my deposits due lie to get me to buy this service

Me and My Fiancé traveled to Jamaica last month to look for venues to have our destination wedding next year. we tour secrets wild orchid Montego bay we told the tour guide everything we wanting for our wedding stating we have 3 kids that would be in the wedding at there resort. they proceeded to tell us that would be find and stated that everything in our wedding would be arrange rooms flight for everyone attending and wedding arrangement as well, because they are the only one with direction contact with these resort and they are nothing like cheap Caribbean. the uvc and some would call us with in 5 days to get everything started. they also stated that as long as we don't book on holidays were guarantee to be able to book with there resort that was listed. Also if we find a price that is cheap somewhere and everything match we need to take a snapshot of it and they would honor it no question asked. so I called on the 5 day June 10 to see why I having received call or anything. rep on the phone told me that we didn't have a membership id yet to start anything. I stated that wasn't what the tour guide told us. I didn't received my welcome email until June 19. Me and My finance live in separate home until we get married. So yesterday we called to try and see if we could book a vacation from the July 20-24 they told us that the resort was booked in Jamaica so we tried St. Martian the first rep we spoke tried to charge 1600 per person when cheap Caribbean was only charging 807 per person plus flight. when bringing this to the rep attention that's when we found out that they don't do everything with the trip like cheap Caribbean and that company have there own contract directly with those resort. in our presentation it was presented that uvc cut the middle man and we will always have the better rate then other companies and that not true in our case. so we asked for a supervisor about these issues when connect with the supervisor Carlos he gave us the run around. he sent us an email about price match and we sent back the exact date time resort every then he stated that they can't expect it because it was off a phone and not a pc and the other companies offer extra special when you using your cell phone so do it on the pc. I asked where in the contract it stats that we cant us our cell phone he state it's not in the contract but that the rules. so we then pull it up on our pc and took a picture of it and it was the same exact price and then he stated he can't except that because it has to be scan shot through the pc. we ask for a supervisor or some else to speak and he stated there is no one over him he's the supervior. this is a nightmare and nothing we were promise and presented is true. I was just told lie to get me to get this and rush through the signing process to buy this service. Being that me and my fiancé don't live together I'm not being update or getting important information like I should or in a timely manner from your company

Desired outcome: l would like a refund and to be remove from your company

Unlimited Vacation Club - am star booking agent

I booked a vacation for Secrets Cap Cana and it was handled poorly. I reached out to my rep Irene multiple times and it's disappointing there has been Zero follow-up. Or giving her the benefit of doubt if she's working behind the scenes she's failed to. communicate that. I will walk you down the path when booking my trip there was some confusion with the flights I ultimately had two flights booked I canceled my fight with United and kept my bundled flight with Amstar. The week before my trip the flight was not listed or ticketed. I called both United and Amstar where I was assured my flight just had been ticketed.

I left several messages for my travel agent, still no response. Fast forward the day before vacation. I still can't check-in. I finally get United and Amstar on a conference call, Your ticket is canceled, no refund was ever issued from Amstar.

I have to buy another ticket in real-time for an additional $500.00 on top of the $800. Total ticket price $1251.00 to boot I still haven't received the refund from the first ticket, moreover, if I wasn't so proactive I would have been at the airport with no ticket on an already booked flight.

Currently, I'm out the original $800.00 plus the first ticket that I never canceled and an additional upcharge on the second ticket the travel agent promised to advocate for meme with United.

I was promised by Irene's supervisor who struggles with the English language she would process an immediate refund and work with United on waiving the surcharge for the new ticket. There is still no refund no communication and no one who will respond to the problem that was no fault of mine. I've been inconvenienced been placed on hold, hung up on. If you sell a trip you need to get your clients to the finish line and when something goes sideways FIX IT and FOLLOW UP. Epic failure. So disappointed.

It's time to up your level of service doesn't sell luxury vacations and give economy customer service.

Desired outcome: Immediate complete refund for initial ticket and refund on the last minute upcharge for the second ticket.

Unlimited Vacation Club - Issues with Dreams Punta Cana

Following summery of our experience with your resort Dreams Palm Beach Punta Cana in Dominican Republic.
I specifically requested a newly built resort for our stay (expectation was Macao) - we was given old resort [Dreams Palm Beach Punta Cana]
I specifically requested both our rooms in the same flow and next each other (because my daughter is a minor and my son is disable) - we was given rooms in two different floors and I did tried every day of our stay to move in to a same floor.
End results was that all of us stayed in one room and we did not use the other room.
The room that we stayed had few major issues - Bathroom toilet, sink was none functional and room AC was nonfunctional - maintenance people had to come 3-4 times and fixed it

I was not expecting these type issues from repudiated organization. I am expecting UVC to take responsibility and correct this issue. I escalated this issue with your company for more than 4 weeks ago and did not hear from anyone until now and I have been following every week.

Desired outcome: Full refund of one(out of two) room Charge

Unlimited Vacation Club - Refund/cancellation of membership

I was in Mexico a little over two weeks ago and went to Secrets in Riviera Maya. My boyfriend and I went on the tour and our guide was fabulous! We then went to what I call a bullying session…where we were not only pressured… But then belittled by the gentleman who was angry because we chose not to purchase. Our guide then told us that everything was fine and she was going to get our $250 voucher and walk us to the front to catch our taxi. Then someone who called himself her manager came over and wanted to make sure that everything was OK because we had been upset and felt pressured. He then offered us a discounted rate… For two years and told us we could cancel within 30 days. Feeling a little better about this two-year commitment and the price we said we would try it out. After coming home we have looked and tried to book different things… And decided this is not worth the money we would be paying. I have tried to call nine different times to cancel our membership and each time I am either told that they will call me back, because the wait time is so long, or they simply hang up on me. Now every time I try to call someone answers and puts me on an infinite hold… All we want to do is cancel our membership. And supposedly they have the best customer service… But no one will assist us. Please help!

Desired outcome: Refund

Unlimited Vacation Club - Promised rates

On April 29th, 2021 we met with a representative of the Unlimited Vacation Cluuc. HIs name is Ivan Tirado. We did not want to upgrade our membership, because we really didn't care about the benefits that would include. Then he brings his boss out, who was a real [censored]. Still not interested. Then Ivan pulls out his tablet and shows us some of the rates we would be getting. Now I am interested. The rate we were shown, at Secrets Akumal, for the same week next year was 85.00 per night per person. It was right on his tablet. I then asked about Secrets Cap Cana and the rate was 120.00 per night per person. Okay. This would make the upgraded membership worth it. Well, my membership comes and I go to the website to get the rates. Nope, the rates were 5 times what we were shown. I call customer service, they say the Quality Assurance Dept will get back to me in 24-48 hours. I email Ivan and get a response from someone namendSandy Avila Sanchez, who was totally useless. I want to toal to Ivan, but of course he is on vacation.

Desired outcome: I would like to get the rates I was shown and promised or be refunded my gold lusupgraded membership fee and given back my silver membership.

Unlimited Vacation Club - Coercion to sign a new contract after emailing the orginal be rescinded and misrepresentation by claudia at cancun resort

I went to Cancun for a 5 day vacation on December 15 and attended a 2 hour presentation on December 16, 2019 that turned into 4 hours and signed a contract that was represented to me as paying $49 a night for all inclusive at their resorts except for Zoetry, my pet would be able to travel with me, and when I asked for a copy of the contract was given a Spanish contract which I cannot read. I asked by email a couple of days after signing to rescind the contract, well within the 5 day period. I was told I would have to speak with Claudia who repeatedly misrepresented the benefits of the contract, saying I could use the 4 RCI weeks at any resort that was available, would easily be able to use the hotel benefits at an upcoming stay in St Petersberg in March for a huge discount, and when I finally received the RCI membership and went on line to book a condo for next fall, was told I would have to deposit weeks that were only worth 9 in trading power and most of the resorts I wanted to stay at were 25 or higher. I was told by the Miami staff that I could book all 4 of my weeks at the same time to get the trading power needed to stay at one of those resorts and told the lady at UVC that the salespersons at the property, Claudia and C.J. both, told me I could book any room that RCI had available anywhere in the world for a 7 day period, week by week, using 4 different vacations, not all in one. After repeatedly telling Claudia that I was ill and in bad health, and was actually very sick the day I tried to cancel the contract, she wore me down after 3 hours and got me to sign a new contract at a somewhat discounted rate to make up for not being able to take my pet with me to all of the properties as promised, for free, and would have to pay an additional pet fee of $65 at some of their resorts that accepted pets. She also said I would be able to stay in a hotel in St. Petersberg in March for $59 a night but this will not be possible since the waiting time to sign up is too long. I am 67 years old and will not be able to travel beyond a one or two year time period and was told I could cancel the contract at any time and would receive a refund of the unused portion. As a remedy, I would like to cancel this contract I have had for less than 30 days since it was grossly misrepresented to me. I have called someone in Miami UVC on Friday, January 17, 2020 and was finally able to get someone on the phone after 45 minutes of holding time who explained the RCI weeks to me and the referred me to her supervisor who was a male who said someone would contact me by no later than next week Wednesday, January 23, 2020 to start the paper work. Closing costs were $699 and I am willing to pay them for the paperwork and administration involved but would like a refund of the remainder of the $3, 100 deposit paid and cancellation of any remaining payments required under the contract,

I have contacted my law firm and they've agreed to help me in filing a class - action lawsuit against the UVC and its affiliates. If anyone would like to join me and a large number of others I have already got together, please reply. Unlimited Vacation Club - their unlimited vacation club

Day 2 of our vacation at Sunscape Resort Curacao - Oct 14 - We went to meet the concierge for the 90 minute Presentation which included lunch. He took us to the club office. The first guy we spoke with at the presentation said we didn't have to buy that day, this was a vacation club. (That was a load of crap) I said that's good because I will need to think about it as I'm ill right now (I have cancer) and this might be my last vacation. 4 hours later and no lunch, my husband and I are both diabetic, they started at $28, 000 USD and finally got it down to $8, 400 USD and had talked us into it. I think because our sugar levels were all over the place. They kept giving my husband beers and me tea then had us initial a form that alcohol and drugs (I was on muscle relaxers) and no hard selling were involved. Bull... They had a tablet and went over some highlights of about 4 pages, they took our money and didn't give us a receipt, had us sign and initial in boxes on the tablet and it pre-populated the contract, which we thought was 4 pages. I got home and clicked on the email they sent and it was now 44 pages of stuff we didn't agree to, so yes I'm going to say it, they scammed us. I'm now in a dispute process with my credit card company over that one. So after our 4 hour ordeal they order the rental car, not from Dollar Rental who's on the property but from Prudential and my husband had to walk off property stand in the heat and humidity for 30 minutes to sign all the paperwork. The Air Canada Rep was only at the desk on the Sunday we arrived and the Sunday we left. All other times the sign said to go into the VIP lounge which we were now technically members of. But we kept getting kicked out of there, go deal with this person or that person. I said we bought into your club, well they are all busy with other members. It's seems once you join they treat you like crap unless you are Dutch. After all it is a Dutch island. We took the car and went for a drive. I cried every day after this, what had I gotten us into this was the worst vacation of my life. And after we signed we were treated like crap. Even the people who signed us up and all who were involved with it wouldn't even look at us. I have emailed my cancellation notice to the only email address I have. I got an automated response back stating someone will get back to me within 48 hours. Right, it's ok, I"m sure my Credit card company will take care of it all. Nothing like talking a disabled cancer patient into something they will probably never get to use. You really should be ashamed of yourselves. How do you sleep at night?

I sent you a cancellation email with the ID on Oct 21. Sounds like lots of Mis-communication on your end. Then you had someone contact me and harass me, from a Poland phone number, not my husband but me. Yes they were pushing all the right buttons, once again upsetting a disabled cancer patient, shame on you. My husband grabbed the phone and told you not to call back or we would be filing harassment charges. Wow, you guys gave it a couple of hours and called me back again. I didn’t answer this time. We have our credit card company involved, so for people who live in Canada, you have 14 calendar days to get this stopped, send the vacation club a cancellation email with your Vacation Club number on it and then call your credit card company.

Unlimited Vacation Club - Vacation club scam

I’m writing this with the hope that it will save at least one person/family from the negative hardship that has happened to me. I visited Mexico the first week in March (2016) with my daughter. Immediately upon getting our rental car from the Hertz rental place I was approached by a salesman (unknown to me at that time, I thought he worked at the car rental) who told me that I could save $120 off of my rental and also would receive free tickets to visit the ruins in Tulum (a saving of $120Pesos). All I had to do was visit Secrets Maroma in Playa del Carmen by 10:00, enjoy a free breakfast and sit through a presentation for a total of 90 minutes. I was told it was not a timeshare and I was not going to be pressured into buying anything. We were late because we were up all night partying on the beach and I was still a little intoxicated, it’s Mexico after all. Upon arriving we were taken inside the entrance of the hotel where we met a lady named Monica. We were escorted into the hotel to a side table where she asked a series of questions about the cost of our current vacation and the amount of money we made – our first red flag. Then we were brought to another area where we met a girl named Paola MJ (she’s on facebook). She escorted us to the breakfast bar where we were able to get a little food (it was closing) and then she asked us a lot of questions about the cost of our vacation, how much we spend on vacation every year and the amount of money I make. After we finished we were taken around the hotel grounds to see what it had to “offer”. We were told over and over again that everything was included with the stay – all drinks, meals, etc. and that if we were members we would get special treatment and discounted prices on everything. We were then brought into an office where we were told to sit at a table and someone would be with us shortly. Another gentleman by the name of Mustaffa joined us (here is his phone number [protected]) and immediately started asking questions about the money we made and what we spend on vacations. He started to try and sell us these extremely expensive packages that they called a vacation club rather than a time share – clever. He kept telling us about his personal stories about coming to Mexico to sell vacations and that his family is jealous of him and wishes they were there to enjoy it, etc. He also went on to saying that all these celebrities stay at the Zoetry resorts and if we bought into that we would see famous people as if that was going to convince us to buy into it. I told him I was sort of interested in coming back but that the cost was out of my price range being that I am on a limited income. After about an hour of trying to get us to buy the most expensive he decided to start ‘negotiating” other options. He offered all these options that did sound appealing at first. He told us that I could join for $7000 that would be billed over multiple years and then I would be charged roughly $130 a year. This would allow us access for 10 years to unlimited booking that my entire family could use for up to 20 rooms at a time and that we would all get free upgrades. That was a lie. He continued to tell us that if we joined we would get exclusive membership rates and would be able to visit that resort again in the future at a rate of just under $1500 a week for two people. This was a lie. He said he would through in two free VIP weeks for no more than $1500. That was a lie. He told me I would have two years and 30 weeks at the RCI resorts around the world and I would only have to pay $499 a week. That was a lie not one of them offer anything at that rate and require you to exchange multiple weeks to get that rate. We even talked to RCI about this and the program they explained is completely different than what Mustaffa explained. He repeatedly told us over and over again, crunched numbers on a calculator and told us that was what it would cost us if we came back to Secrets Maroma. He must have practiced the numbers to enter into the calculator, scammers do that. We asked about other locations and what those would cost a family of 5 (two adults and three kids) and he wasn’t able to come up with accurate numbers because he said the rates were different and he could only quote us on Secrets Maroma. He told us that we would also be granted a price difference if we were able to find it cheaper on another site and showed us a list of the sites that they would price match. He said that we could look them up right now on the internet. We tried and magically the wireless didn’t work. I told him I would like to take a moment to step out and make a couple phone calls and he said that if we left that room the offer was off the table and we would not qualify. At this point I was ready to walk away from the entire thing and they started telling us that we should at least see if I qualified for the credit card to see if I could get approved for any part of the financing and that I could use the credit card for other purchases regardless if we signed up that day or not and that I would earn travel rewards and points toward other vacations. I told him I would agree to that as long as I was not obligated. This was a lie. The paperwork they had me sign was also for the vacation club – which was not what I agreed to. He walked away to check and see if I was approved and after he returned he said I was approved and that the down payment and closing costs had been charged to the card and we were all set to go, that I would not have to make payments for 60 days and that there was no interest for 6 months. I told him that wasn’t ok since I had not agreed to purchase anything. He continued to say we could start using the membership immediately and that the next time we could stay at Secrets for $1400 for two people. I told him I wanted to cancel the membership immediately and he said that was not an option because I signed the agreement and it was already charged to the card. I should have kept fighting right there but they had all my paperwork and would not return it. I told him that I wanted this all in writing what he promised/quoted me on and wanted to see where it said that the contract was not able to be terminated. He said that was not an issue and it would be in the paperwork once I got it in the mail. I was told that I would have copies of everything and that it would also be mailed and sent to me via email. This was a lie. After all of this they pushed us out the door like we were nothing. After arriving back at our hotel we looked over everything closely and noticed that we had 5 days to cancel, against what they had previously told me. The next day we went back to the resort to go through those steps and they told us it was not an option. We told them we wanted it in writing that we couldn’t cancel and they again said that wasn’t an option. We said we wanted it in writing that we were promised these different items and the quotes Mustaffa gave us to stay there and they said that wasn’t possible. I asked to speak with Mustaffa and they said he was in a meeting and would get him. Once he got into the office we told him we wanted to cancel and he said that’s not an option. We told them to show us in the paper work where the language was that told us the membership (that we were basically illegally forced into) gave us unlimited access to bookings and the locations we could visit that we were promised and they were not able to show us. We told them again we were not comfortable with this and wanted to cancel and they said that was not an option and we were locked in. This was all a lie and if I would have known that we did have more rights then they said we did I would have made a big scene right then and there. That was my fault. We left that day very scared, afraid, disappointed and shocked that we were taking advantage of. You would think that Mexico would want to take care of their tourists since it is what makes up most of the revenue that goes into that country. Mustaffa and Paola even said those exact words – so why are they in a business that screws over tourists?!?! After our return to the US we consulted with an attorney who told us that we did in fact have 5 days to cancel but that it was too late. I immediately canceled the card and sent certified letters explaining my story. RCI called immediately and started walking me through the steps to cancel it and make a claim for fraudulent charges, which I am still dealing with. Then I called and notified UVC that I did not agree to the membership and spoke to Ariel who told me they would forward my call to the right person and I could expect a return call in 48 hours. This was a lie. I did not hear from anyone. I called after 48 hours and was referred to a Sandra and they sent me to another ext. I asked for a Sandra who told me that my issue was given a claim number. Sandra said I needed to contact Ivonne Speulveda, her number is [protected] Ext 172, the address is Quality Assurance UVC; Ave.Tulum No 269 L2-03 Mza 3 SM 15A; Cancun, Q. Roo. Mexico 77500 and her email is [protected]@unlimitedvc.com. (I’m leaving that message in case anyone else comes across that name) When I called Ivonne she told me I wasn’t able to cancel. I told her I did not agree to the charges or buying into the time share and that they lied to me. She said it was “too bad” and said in order for me to get out of the contract I had to pay for half of the costs. I explained to Ivonne that I was falsely led to believe that I was applying for a card to see if I could qualify but that they charged the fees to it before even telling me I was approved. Her response, word for word was that “No one forced you and put a gun to your head. No one held your hand when you signed the application for the card. No one made you sit through the presentation. No one made you join”. Who says those things!?! That alone is unprofessional and absolutely disgusting to say!. When I told her that was not true and that they did force me into joining by charging the card she responded “can you prove it”. I told her I went back the next day with my daughter to cancel and she responded again “can you prove it. Can you prove that you were there”. I asked her to check the cameras they had on the ceiling and she said that is wasn’t possible. At that point I was so upset that I hung up the phone. She then sent an email that showed the credit card agreement with my initials (that I signed because I was told I was getting approved for a card that would earn me travel points and discounts, not that they were going to bill me on it automatically). The email said she would be willing to lower the interest rate from 9% to 3% if I would keep the membership. She said she would also throw in a week of VIP to use as per certificate (remember now, I was already promised two weeks but nowhere does it say that it’s part of the plan they forced me into). She said if I didn’t keep the membership I would have to pay $1625.00 to get out of the contract. I assume that is in addition to the $2000+ they charged my card without my permission.
At this time I have decided to take it upon myself to send this review to every social media site that I can find to try and warn people that this is a company they should stay away from. Do not fall for their lies and false promises. They will do whatever necessary to try and lock you into a contract and then tell you that you are not able to get out of it. They are scammers and should be shut down. I don’t care if there are a few people out there who like UVC – prove to me that you are a real person and not some agent/employee of UVC that is only out there trying to convince others that the company is legit. If I go on TripAdvisor, Facebook, Google Review, etc. and the majority of the reviews are negative (I would say 9 out of 10) it tells me that this is not a company anyone should be involved in. BEWARE of Unlimited Vacations Club. BEWARE of AM Resorts. BEWARE of RCI when they are affiliated with UVC-AM Resorts. Save yourself the time, money and hassle and stay away! Do not even go to the presentation, they will do whatever they force you into the club. It’s not worth the rental car savings or the free attraction passes – it’s not worth the headache and waste of a day. STAY AWAY from them!
Here is the contact information I received two weeks after I was forced into the contract. They do whatever they can to make sure you do not have the option to cancel.

Nothing all you get is excuse after excuse as to what happens there. We sort of accepted the fact that they are scam artists and we will just suffer through until we get our values worth. Their big problem is their sales people are not very well educated and the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing despite all their hoopla. Our problem goes back to last November in Puerto Vallarta with Dawn and then in Curacao with pablo who promised the world and then the next day said he couldn't do it because head office didn't approve it.

Whatever came out of your dispute? We were recently treated the same exact way but for $20, 000. We have canceled our credit card and have my bank and possibly an attorney looking into this SCAM

Wow, that's crazy. I have them as well but I sold them my timeshare which was a waste for me so gladly gave it up and only ended up paying total of 5, 000 for 50 years with the use of discounted yacht for 10 yrs. Didn't like RCI nor the other UVC lifestyle. The most rooms I used at one time was 6. They very clever but you have to be just as clever as them. You are right about the "free upgraded room." The prices may be cheaper than internet prices and you have to watch the prices because they constantly change. But still think they could be cheaper having to pay for membership. All timeshares rip people off unfortunately. Sorry about your experience.
