Unlimited Vacation Club review: Do not contest the disputed charge I have already put on the credit card

We attended a sales pitch at Secrets Royal Beach in Punta Cana on February 9, 2025. After taking up 4 hours of our precious and not inexpensive vacation time, and after several misrepresentations about the length of time, the “next step” was going to take, they made cry and she walked out and I finished up the paperwork alone.

When I returned to my room, now with more time on my hands, I read the documents thoroughly. The deal as written up is not what was represented in writing on the notepads which I have pictures of. (Although the negotiator did change the terms on the notepad after I took pictures “making the deal better”). Moreover, regardless of any other basis I may maintain, the Contract provides a five day cancellation period without requiring I state any cause.

We have not made use of any upgrades or used UVI to provide any benefit whatsoever. In fact, when we reviewed our ability to book a trip nothing was available within the time period required to use the benefits.

I timely canceled on February 10, 2024 pursuant to the contract by emailing the mediator at the email address provided in the contract. The mediator has not responded yet, which the contract indicates may be required to show that I disputed it on time. That provision of the contract is unenforceable and frankly asinine as it shifts all the power to an irresponsive and recipient.

We are still on site, extremely dissatisfied with the experience, and willing to sit in the breakfast area, warning the incoming to avoid the slaughter.
