I was interviewed for a Floor Tech Position at West Gate Resort on June 2nd of 2023. What made me apply for that position was they advertised a job opening for floor tech wage was 17.00 per. hr. and off on weekends. I went to the interview, and the C.E. O. over housekeeping, the supervisor, and the lead man was present. The C.E. O. mention to me that the Leadman speaks no English, but when I came in for training, the leadman was so-called training me.
So now, it's a communication wall between the lead man and me. I found out later that I had more experience in floor care than the lead man is supposed to be training me. And he didn't like that, so he started calling me bad names, even the N-word I reported him. Ever since then all the Spanish folks in housekeeping mainly the supervisor, and the C.E. O. of housekeeping started setting me up to fail. Being that I was told all the rules, mainly about smoking. I was smoking but was told it was not allowed, so I started going off the company grounds to smoke, and I'm sure its a lot of them there smoked and were doing the same thing.
But someone took a picture of me going back to the building with an unlit cigarette in my hand, and I was fired for that on June 21st.
The whole setup there is to only hire Spanish-speaking people. 98 percent of workers in that dept. speaks Spanish, and if they do speak English? It's broken English. Why are there no English-speaking folks working there that can translate? Their equipment is mostly under-maintained, old, and outdated.
Desired outcome: Get more English-speaking people there with rank, or someone who can speak both clearly. Floor Care Equipment get maintained and updated
Westgate Resorts - Timeshare scam
We have explained our situation to Westgate Resorts and the issues we have had since we came on board with the them. We feel as though we have been abandoned and abused by the system. We asked them to listen. To understand the difficulties we’ve been facing and each time we speak to one of their representatives, we get the same cold response: We received a phone call yesterday from Mr. Marion Watkins, around 4:00pm and he stated what our balance was $26,814 and wanted to make arrangements for a payment. We reiterated our position that we can't afford to pay, that we are retired, elderly, and we had sent them mulitipy letters in reference to this. He stated that there was nothing in place at this time for us and would get back in touch if anything changed. He stated that he didn't know when but that we can send a payment. He appeared not to be interested in what we have previously sent and he was speaking on behalf of Westgate Resorts. We know that there other people who have canceled timeshares and have helped other people by deeding their property back. We don’t know if those people had financial difficulties or hindering health ailments, but we do. We have provided medical proof, financial proof, written proof that shows that we need their help, and they have provided nothing to us.
Desired outcome: We would like options for closing out our account
Westgate Resorts - Reservation cancelled
As a Westgate Owner since 2011 with Account Number [protected] I want to express my dissatisfaction with the treatment received by Westgate representatives. I had a reservation (# [protected]) booked with months in advance for a week (Nov13 to Nov20 2021) in Westgate South Beach to celebrate my mom´s 70th birthday.
Four days before departing, I received an email saying that the resort was going to close due to maintenance and that a representative was going to call me to assist me (thing that never happened). I called several times since that Monday trying to speak with a manager and looking for a proper solution, considering that I had purchased air tickets from Leon Mexico, an extra night in an airport hotel because we were arriving Friday November 12th at night and sport ticket events for use during our stay in Miami. The representatives at Westgate call center never offered me a solution, they just told me that soon a manager would call me to see my options, but I never received a call but the same Saturday 13th. where the person just said: "we are sorry".
I hereby request to compensate for my ruined vacations and expenses I made for this travel. I need my plane tickets reimbursed plus the extra night I paid in Miami (attached to this letter) or either be compensated with the upcoming fees for the next maintenance period that is due in the coming months (01/02/2022) to cover for our losses (more than $1, 500 USD) incurred from the breach of contract from the company. We expect Westgate attention in this matter asap so that we continue with our good standing membership.
Desired outcome: Reinburse, manteinance fees and an extra week
Westgate Resorts - account cancellation
I have requested my account to not be renewed for three consecutive years. I have requested they delete my account each year, only to have them bounce me around between representative agents who fail to complete the request. They say they have, and it usually takes at least three additional calls to even get refunded each year.
At what point is this blatant theft, fraud, or legally actionable? DO NOT deal with this company or any of its associated companies. They will hide behind "It wasn't us, it was them" and just pass you around in a game of phone tag hoping you will give up.
I have been flat out told by my bank the only thing I can do is wait for them to attempt to bill me again, and dispute the charge. Alternative would be to close my bank account and open a new one so they can't even attempt to bill me. I fear this would only lead to WestGate attempting to put me into collections for something I don't owe. That is the kind of sleaze bag company this is.
Westgate Resorts - false information
At the presentation I was ensured that all contact would be done via email due to the time difference between UK and USA. I was also told I would be sent details and able to book a my holiday date and location of my choice on my returnto the UK. The only contact I have had from Westgate since my return was for payments. I have received 2 x phone calls with the promise of a call back this was over a month ago. I want ro resolve the issues I have with Westgate but they have failed to respond.
I received a letter today but the only to request payment, not toassist me in booking a holiday.
Westgate Resorts - fraud and cheating
Through an owner referral, i rented a weekend at Westgate Resorts Orlando. However, I changed my mind after receiving a better deal through the Armed Forces Vacation Club. I called Westgate to cancel. They told me I had 14 days to cancel from the date I paid for the vacation to get a refund. It had been about 8 weeks. I never received any notices on the phone, in the mail or email stating that I had 14 days to cancel my rental. All I received was an itinerary via the email that stated if I canceled my stay within 14 days of my arrival I would have to forfeit 25 dollars. I tried to file a dispute with my credit card company. Westgate Resorts lied to my credit card company and they decided that I did owe the money. I am very disappointed in their sleazy sales tactics and will pursue this out of principal. I filed a complaint with the Central Florida BBB but have yet to hear from them. I strongly suggest a class action lawsuit against them, they are corrupt and I will advise everybody I know within the military community to stay away from these people.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
A todos les puedo de cir que me arrepiento de haber hecho negocios con westgate resorts, cuando trate de revenderlo me comunique con Century 21 una compania que supuestamente iba a vender my time share. El servicio de vender la unidad me costaria $400.00; luego de enviarlo me comunicaba por telefono con el agente de venta siempre con la excusa - esta en proceso, perdiendo el contacto, el dinero y peor aun viendose afectado mi credito.

We got pressured into buying one of these. They kept the paper that said we had 5 days to cancel so we did not know about the rule. Until I started fighting with them over it. Then magically they send me a copy of that one paper that said it. I am still fighting with them and will not use it. It is a rip off and they know it. I would also cancel my credit card if they believed them and you have proof that you did what was required to. I would ask for a reconsideration from your card company and keep the pressure on. I tell everyone I know not to have anything to do with Westgate. When they call I even argue with the person especially when they ask me for referrals. I tell them I would not even refer people I hate to them. I told them they could have my timeshare back I'll take it in the shorts for the money they stole from us. They even refused that offer. So that should say something right there.
