On February 9, 2024, I gifted a friend a $100 Applebee’s gift card. That friend went to the Pensacola Florida location attempted to use the gift card and was denied and was forced to pay out of pocket. I called to speak to the manager today February 10, 2024. Spoke to a manager named Terrence who was extremely rude. I requested the corporate number to discuss this with an individual. He refused to give me such information and called my guest that I gifted the gift card to ignorant and incompetent. He stated that there was a note on the door, stating that they were not taking any credit cards, which was not true. I feel like we were forced to pay over $90 for a meal when a gift card was readily available. The gift card was a gift and I am extremely embarrassed at your organizations handling of such a situation. I would like someone to return my phone call at [protected] again this is extremely frustrating and embarrassing. Not to mention a financial burden to a friend. I gifted $100 gift card to, and they were forced to use their own cash.
Claimed loss: $90 cash
Desired outcome: An apology for the poor Customer Service and reimbursement for the $90 or another gift card to use at a different location for that amount.
