LensCrafters - exam/purchase of glasses

I was visiting family and needed to get my exam before my insurance ends at the new year so I came to LensCrafters for an eye exam as well as getting a contact prescription. While getting the exam Dr Frank was getting frustrated because I couldn't see the letters it looked like a white line the first few times. I told him that last exam I had a doctor who was getting frustrated because I have such poor vision in an eye and that I just finally lied & said I could see so the visit would be over and that I didn't want that to happen this time because I really needed something good.

In the exam he constantly said I shouldn't be driving without anything and I said yessir that's why I'm here because I lost my good glasses & need more, and he said if I were to wreck he would tell my lawyer he told me to wear glasses or contacts. Which I understood but I didn't need to be told over and over that I needed something I knew that that's why I was here in the first place.

I text my boyfriend about how rude he was being and it brought me to tears because I'm literally just trying to be able to see that's all. I know how bad my vision it I've lived with it my entire life and I was there to get it corrected.

Fast forward to me trying on contacts on and had trouble with the left eye so it took me a while longer. I could hear him upset and talking badly about someone and I asked the tech helping if he was upset with me and she said no it's about the other tech, because they always butt heads, you could hear him talking poorly saying the staff are lazy and they'd want to leave and just get paid. I get coworkers can suck but don't sit and fuss about them where customers can hear especially because I was thinking it was about me.

So I continue putting in my contacts. My right eye is the awful eye and I had my contact in and asked if I was suppose to see a significant difference because I couldn't even read the sign 8 feet in front of me and he got frustrated but then showed me it's for far away. And I thanked him and I was super happy because I could actually see out of it. So I went back to the room to finish up with the left eye and I can hear him fussing again and tell someone to tell her (as in me) not to come back and I looked at the tech and she said "oh I hope he's not talking about you" and then she walks back to tell him that I can hear him. So he comes back and says he's had a bad day and then just makes small talk and offers some advice to get the contact in easier, then goes back to the back.

He comes and tells her that I had the exam and what to ring up. And it was $86 then I find my glasses find some 50% off and come to get everything figured out and they tell me my total is $472. I was like excuse me? That the 50% off doesn't work with insurance and I'm just like wow okay that should be displayed somewhere if that were the case.

So fast forward to getting my glasses it was another $172. The lenses that were ordered were like $383 and I have no idea what any of it means no one explained it or said this is what your best bet would be to get. So now I have spent almost $300 for honestly the worst experience of my life and I keep trying to contact someone in order to cancel my order because I don't want to give this company any of my money but I can't ever actually speak to anyone it's just all recordings so I would love to speak to someone preferably before the new year
