I visited Ross at the Douglasville Ga. location as we often do. My daughter in the process of a room makeover located an ottoman. Her, my husband and I were in the store, and she decided to get it. The ottoman is oversized, and my husband would have certainly carried it to the front of the store to make purchase. This maneuvering was different because he has a hernia and under doctor's orders not to be moving or lifting heavy items. "Just needed help to get the item up front and on truck until we got home for neighborly assistance. Well waiting in the store after asking for assistance to get it to the front of the store from Terrell a manager, he stated that he would be right back. Patiently waiting for him to come back or send help I decided to make my final purchases while husband and daughter waited for the assistance. When I got to the register, I overheard Terrell speaking to my cashier saying that this lady wants help and has a whole husband back there. I was like yes; he is back there... He cleaned up his conversation as if he saw a ghost, stating that he was sending help. Very unprofessional and disheartening for leadership to engaged in conversation about patronage. Poorest Customer Service Ever!
Desired outcome: Retrained in customer service, coached on leadership, I want an apology from Terrell given to all parties involved.; cashier included.Everything Rises and Falls on Leadership; It's a mindset!! Model the behavior expected. Accountability.
