I, Karl Pitzel contacted Toyota of Merrillville about a check engine light on my 2008 Tundra Pick-up.
The service department said to leave the truck.
The next day Adam called and said the warranty will not cover the problem, and that I needed a New Transmission. They said I was in luck they would use my old case and it would only cost $3, 500.
I told them do not touch the truck.
A few hours later they called me again and said they had a different Technician look it over and that I did not need a new transmission, but it needed a Brake Module etc… and that the price will now be $2800 and he said he talked to Toyota and since I was such a good customer they would fix it and all I had to do is “contribute” $500.00 toward the repair and they would do the rest.
I told them do not do anything, again!
So I picked up the truck after going through an hour of phone calls and 4 different service guys attempting to stall me, and they finally gave me my keys back.
I then took the truck to Frank Tolley’s Auto Service in Crown Point [protected]
All the truck needed was a “reset” of my ECU for only $125.00
