YMCA - Membership not working at other YMCA

I have a membership in Richmond, KY. I went 20 miles to the next town in Lexington, KY to use a YMCA. They told me my membership is not active here because of some 50 mile radius rule?! I’ve never heard of this or was told about this. I was told I could use any YMCA with my membership. But they are telling me I can’t work out here
