Hello, My name is Karima Thompson and I work as a shift leader over night for the Watermark Donut Company at 1420 Boylston st. I am contacting you because I am not being treated unfairly. I work 34 hrs a week 10 hrs a night and I'm a very hard worker. My manager Rihana Ali has taken me off the schedule this week because she heard i got a new job and shes upset. I did not give her a two week notice and i havent given her any reason to cut my entire schedule for the week. I have bills to pay and now I wont be able to pay them because of this unfair treatment. I went from 34 hrs to 0 hrs and something needs to be done to stop this from happening because it happens to alot of the employees whenever Rihana is upset. I lost my last apartment because of her doing this also in the past and being homeless isnt fun at all. i work to hard for this company to receive this treatment because of my managers personal feelings on me getting a new job. I would work all night without a break and she would come in and expect me to help with morning rush after 9hrs of work while im on my break. she yells and gets very rude and mean when there is a line. I tried to call out on one occasion, i was extremely sick coughing and throwing up everywhere so i called 5hrs early to let her know i wouldnt make it, she started yelling and told me if i didnt show up she would cut my hrs. I ended up working that night in extreme pain. Everytime she puts me to work with a specific employee she would blame me if the employee does something she knew she wasnt suppose to and its unfair. I have also witnessed her at the end of the work day take bagels and put them in the freezer and use them for the next few days incase the store runs out and i know this is wrong because whenever we defrost these bagels we are told not to let her boss see us when he is coming to visit. I love this company but this manager is absolutely out of control and very very disrespectful. After being treated this way my view on this entire company has changed. Something has to be done.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
