Purchased a mattress 5/30. It was delivered 5/31. The power adjustable base that was free with our purchase does not work in our old home for lack of outlets, the product itself is still in the original packaging. We did not attempt to set it up as we saw through the plastic it would need to be plugged in. We called and wanted to exchange it for just a simple frame/box spring. They said it’s stated in their policy they don’t take “bedding” so the frame falls under that. The salesperson should have been transparent with us that it would be a final sale. We found the information regarding it being a final sale on the last page of the packet we were given after our sale was finalized. What are we going to do with this base now? Shouldn’t stores care about their customers? Just wondering if customer satisfaction still exists.
Desired outcome: Exchange the power base and give us a basic frame/box spring instead.
Gardner-White Furniture - Woodburn mattress and power base
My wife and I saw a commercial on TV for a mattress and adjustable frame for $599.00 in early April. On April 11 we needed that bed and frame. My wife and I talked about it and she went to the Hall road store in Shelby, Mi. to purchase it. It was delivered on 4 12. On april 30 I look at my charge card sssite and see a charge of $1,324.98. I spoke with my wife and she says that she wanted the better mattress for $149.99 and was told by the sailman that the power base was free. On the receipt it shows a upgrade for a $699.00 adjuster with a savings of $400.00. She did not ask for that nor did she ask for it. She figuerd $600 plus $150 should be $750.00. The salesman never told her that that bed was not on sales and took advantage of a woman in distress over her hospitalized son. I called the store and was told the salesperson was not in to verify my story and I could not talk to a manager. Not believing that I could not talk to a manager I drove to the store to talk to a manager and was told the same thing. That my wife actually asked for a 300.00 upgrade on a $600.00 dollar sale. Sales order [protected]. Cust # [protected]. Salesman Tim Mayo and Tocco.
Desired outcome: Reimburse my $300. upgrade on the frame and $100.00 Increase in the cost of the bed and frame. Do your sales men work on a commission? . I feel my wife and I were taken advantage off by a unscrupulous salesman in a time of stress.
Unscrupulous salespeople and manager will not come out and talk to customer.
