We went into Gardner White in Auburn Hills, MI on 11/29, our sales rep Alyssa(?) was FANTASTIC. She was super helpful and knowledgeable. We paid $150 for the white glove delivery for Sunday 12/01/2024. We purchased a sectional and a dining room table and 4 chairs on clearance off the floor. We were told the table we looked at is the one we will get (they disassemble and bring to our home).
On Sunday the delivery people arrive and realize they're missing tow integral pieces, and they cannot assemble the table. I was told by the delivery person that I would be getting contacted any minute by their warehouse setting up delivery for tomorrow (12/02/2024). Mind you the delivery happened at 330 give or take and they left around 430-5. I never received a call, but it was a Sunday and the evening got away from me, So I stayed home from work the next day anticipating a delivery, by 11 I still was not contacted. I called and the woman I spoke to indicated the parts would be put on their evening truck at 4P and the delivery windows are 3 hours, so I assumed 4-7P. A few hours later I get a text message indicating that the delivery is scheduled for 8-11p. So, I missed Monday at work, my work day is 7A-4P, I cannot be up waiting for a delivery to 11P, plus I have 2 small children who go to bed at 730P. So, I called and complained and basically was told that's what the evening delivery is and it just is what it is. I made a stink and was passed to the office manager who feigned sympathy, but really only said OK, so how about tomorrow Tuesday 12/03/2024 from 8A-12P. I declined, I have to go to work. This was not my mistake; this is a Gardner White issue.
Claimed loss: $150 white glove delivery and 8 hours of PTO = $416
Desired outcome: refund of white glove delivery fee
