Let me say that I was very pleased with the dentist, hygienist and staff, but billing is a nightmare. Again, this last time, I was in for a standard cleaning and consultation for future work which is covered 100% by insurance. This was Feb.
8, 2023. Now I get a bill for Gingival Irrigation per Quad times 4, code D4921. This a procedure that was not done and is not covered by insurance. I know what this procedure is since my periodontist has done this maybe once or twice in the last 30 years for a tooth with deep pockets. I have called billing and all I get is that they always charge this. Since all the hygienist does is squirt water in your mouth to rinse, this is fraud. This is a procedure that must be disclosed and authorized by the patient. This has happened before. I really liked the dentist and felt that I could trust them.
Desired outcome: I would like the fraudulent charges cleared from my bill and see that this does not happen to anyone else. There has to be accountability.
