My insurance gave me a list of network dentists. I chose Aspen, called them for a cleaning; advised I was changing dentists to shorten my commute; asked if ok for me bring my dental records, x-rays or if they must do it. I was told "do nothing, not necessary" & appt. was made. I did a 2nd call 5+ days later asking same?'s. I was told again "No" but I was asked to give my insurance info so all would be verified prior to arrival. Xrays were done & estimate given for cleaning. 2 cleanings are free. They told me I was out of network. NOT TRUE! They are billing m me for portion of xrays my ins. didn't pay & won't talk to me.
Claimed loss: Unnecessary xrays were done when I could've provided same. Insurance will not duplicate payment. Insurance pmt to Aspen has used up part of my annual allowance. Want to be refunded what insurance paid for xrays.
Desired outcome: Stop calling, texting & billing me for $41.00 balance due. Very upsetting. Stop them from operating in this manner.

I went to Aspen Dental close to 8 years ago. They replaced some temporary crowns from as far back as the early '80s and maybe filled another tooth. I think I went in mainly because I chipped a front tooth. A dentist recommended putting a crown on this, and I agreed. A temp crown was put on and then a regular crown put on, which lasted perhaps 4 years before coming off. I was shocked to see that this tooth had been ground down even with my gums. I then went to a dentist near my hometown for a replacement crown, however, this only lasted maybe 2 years before it came off. I went back to this dentist to have it recemented and then went again when this came off and got another crown that came off later. Then, this dentist's office told me they no longer covered my insurance plan, so I returned to Aspen Dental. A dentist there told me a couple of minutes after she recemented my tooth back in that the cement wasn't holding, so she was going to use a temporary cement and set me up to rework my stub for another crown. Next, I was shown a plan for around $12,000 of work to be done. I then went to another dentist because I did not think I should be paying for a new crown every 2 years or so. The next dentist I went to was afraid to do a root canal to build the stub back up because there was too little left to work with and that my best option was for an implant, which I could not afford. Now, I am stuck with no front tooth.
