On 06/20/22 went to TJ Maxx in Morrisville NC to return a defective pot I had purchased with the receipt. The Manager Jean Looked at me up and down because of my dark skin tone and scarf on my head she nastily said. "I am not returning this." She pointed out water stains on the pot. The stains were from being in my car plus we had several days of torrential thunderstorms for a few days prior to my return date. At first she tried to say there was no label on the pot so she couldn't refund me but had to change that excuse because there was no label on the pot the begin with. TJ Maxx has the pot in their possession but the manager is still trying to hold on to my money.
Also TJ Maxx's return policy and exemptions/exclusions was not explained me.
The pot is heavy and it aggravated an existing hand and wrist injury I have. I explained all of this to Jean. She was racist towards me with an aggressive nasty attitude.
I have spent thousands of dollars of dollars shopping at TJMAXX and Homegoods. The minute I had an issue with a product I get the racist judemental attitude from the manager. I will no longer shop in TJ MaXX Home goods Stores.
Desired outcome: To get a full refund and an apology from the store manager for the insulting and discriminating behavior that I experienced from Jean when trying to return the pot.
