I bought a pair of glasses that came with magnetic sunglasses. The day after I received them, the lens fell out. I brought them back to have them fixed. They did a temporary fix and had to order me a new pair. I was told it would take at least two weeks express. Well, after about 31/2 weeks, I called. I was told that they still had not received my replacement pair. The following day, LensCrafters left me a message stating that they no longer carried the frames and that I could come in and pick out a new frame. I went into the store and was told that I could get new frames, but not with magnetic sunglasses. I informed the staff person that the reason I pick these particular glasses, was because of the sunglasses. I need them for work. They told me that I could not get them with sunglasses and there was nothing they could do to rectify the situation other than give me a new pair without sunglasses. They tried to give me a cheap clip on sunglasses at no cost to me. I informed them that was not satisfactory to me, that I wanted the magnetic sunglasses. As it stands, I am still wearing the broken glasses with the magnetic sunglasses. I did inform them that if I had a problem with them, that I will be back.

THE DR. ON SITE IS VERY GOOD--THE EYEGLASS SECTION IS THE WORST I HAVE EVER SEEN---PEOPLE WHO KNOW NOTHING ABOUT HOW TO MEASURE FOR NEW LENSES AND HAVING TO WAIT FOR TWO TO THREE WEEKS FOR THE PRODUCT TO COME IN.-I WILL BE INFORMING MY INS. CO. OF THIS POOR SERVICE TO SEE IF THEY CAN DROP LENSCRAFTERS FROM THEIR COVERAGE----I WILL NO BE DEALING WITH LENSCRAFTERS EVER AGAIN--WILL DEAL WITH THE DR.
For one of the dominant names in the eyeglass industry, LensCrafters seems to offer pretty poor service at a rather high price. When I bought my last eyeglasses from them, they got the optics wrong the first time -- the girl who measured me did a sloppy job, and the frames they sold me were bent. They also took a very long time to have the glasses ready -- more than two weeks. Recently when I went in to buy a new pair with a new prescription, they wasted a half an hour of my time taking measurements and showing me lenses and frames, only to tell me then that they couldn't fill my prescription (I have mild astigmatism) with rimless glasses -- despite the fact that they had done so twice in the decade previous. So I went down the street to a Cohen's Fashion Optical, where the very nice girls behind the counter said, "Astigmatism and rimless glasses? No problem!" And Cohen's had my glasses ready in a week, as promised. They also offered the same AARP 30% discount as LensCrafters. So LC may have the latest technology in their stores, but they fail in good old-fashioned customer service. Phooey!
One review here was obviously written by a Lens Crafteres employee. No one else would bother to write a reply sticking up for Lens Crafters over inferior quality and replacements.. Lenscrafters can not make a decent pair of glasses I agree with the first writer --their service is very poor and they usually have uneducated people working there with awful attitudes. A lot of the employees are very odd and left me wondering what drug they were on and some smell as if someone should introduce them to a bar of soap. The workmanship is horrible my wife and I had glasses made there and returned both of them because of improperly made lenses for single vision.
What else would you like them to do? They offered to give you a new frame, in which new lenses have to be made for because your old ones will not be salvaged. They sound like they did every thing possible to solve the problem, but your insistence on clip-ons caused them to be unable to solve your problem. If something is not made anymore, they don't have some secret stockpile of them in which they use for situations such as yours. Perhaps you should look into transition lenses or simply switch between clear/optical glasses and sunglasses.
I think they're German; they refused me assistance arbitrarily.
