Avas Flowers - Unethical business practice

On 7/8 I placed an order for flowers to be delivered to a friend using an AVAS online "special offer". The price was $44.95 with free delivery. Turned out to be $64.94 (free delivery, but was in there after all in the form of a $19.95 "service charge".).
Within 15 minutes I tried to cancel the order, but got a message that customer service would be in touch with me. Assuming that the order was canceled I waited to hear from a customer service rep...still waiting.
A few hours later I found the floral arrangement on my front porch!
Obviously a SCAM. There is no way that a person shouldn't be able to cancel an order within fifteen minutes of finding out the price was misrepresented.
The fine print does indicate that orders can be canceled within 24 hours after they are placed, but same day or next day deliveries can not be canceled. Legally they covered their butts, but ethically they leave a lot to be desired.
Steer clear of AVAS Flowers and tell your friends, family and even non friends that they are nothing but a SCAM.
The arrangement was nice, but not $64.95 nice.

Avas Flowers - Flowers ordered for a funeral

I ordered flowers online for a funeral in a small rural community. I went with Avas Flowers because they said they were able to deliver flowers to that community. I got a phone call one hour before the service was to start saying they were unable to complete the delivery - something about not having enough drivers. When I told them that they could deliver it tomorrow as well (today was the visitation and tomorrow is the service) they told me they would not be able to do that either. When I asked the name of the woman (I thought I was talking to) xe said their name was "John" - quickest name they could come up with because that was the name of the person they thought they were contacting at our office. I told them they could make it right by sending a full refund and "John started to hem & haw. Accused me of trying to cut him off. Would not address the issue of a refund, just kept trying to say they were a reputible business. I asked to speak with a supervisor. Left on hold for 20 minutes waiting for a supervisor. Finally Aleashia/ Alissa came online, acted like she didn't know what I was talking about, asked me for my name twice. I gave her the name that is on the credit card (the same name that the first rep used to identify themsleves as). Asked for the order number and then left me on hold for 20 minutes more and then said that the only resolution was for us to give them an alternative address for delivery. After reading all the reviews I told her we do not want delivery to an alternate address. They were unable to fulfil the contract that they agreed to so I wanted a full refund. She then hung up on me.

Do not ever do business with this company! If there is an issue with your order such as flowers never being delivered, you will NOT get your money back. Lesson learned, always check BBC before choosing a florist.

On 8/22/20, I ordered a house plant for my Aunt, who's husband had just passed. I was told I would get free delivery and the plant would be delivered that afternoon, or at the latest the next morning. The next day I talked to my Aunt and she said nothing about the plant so I checked the tracking on my order and they had changed the delivery date to 8/29/20. I immediately contacted customer service to cancel the order. After waiting on hold for nearly 45 min. it gave me an option to get a scheduled call back. So, I put in a time for them to call me back. They didn't call me back. (In the meantime I called my credit card Co. and asked them to please dispute the payment should it go thru). When I didn't receive a call back as scheduled I called back and got a recording that they were closed. I filled out the cancellation form on line but didn't trust it to go thru so I called the next day and was able to cancel it after I told them the bill was going to be disputed should it go through. The plant I purchased was $52.99 but then they tacked on $4.99 for a bow, $3.99 for a card and $17.95 for a service fee. The total came to $85.21. They are very deceiving in their pricing and they don't tell you about these added on charges until it's too late. I will say the customer service rep. I spoke with at the end was very polite. I am happy I was able to get this order cancelled because I do not like giving companies like this my business. I will be more careful next time.

Avas Flowers - Flowers for my birthday

My boyfriend's mother ordered me Daisey's for my birthday. they were supposed to be delivered on July 10, 2020 they did not show up until July 13 2020. I opened the box, and the flowers were practically dead. The flowers were not Daisey's, they were roses, the pedals on the flowers were already falling off. The packet that you are suppose to add to the flower did not come with this order. Her payment was deducted immediately after several attempts to send the correct order, and still they didn't get the order correct. After being on the phone with them for over an hour, she was told that the order would be sent out by FedEx. Again, they lied about the delivery time and date. Nothing about this company is good. On their website, they advertised as a local florist in North Kingstown RI. That is false information, they came from New Jersey. Very disorganized, lack of communication, and horrible customer service.

Avas Flowers - Flowers not delivered when ordered and no response from company

Ordered flowers on 6/19/2020 for delivery that day-order #7027993. Received email that order was scheduled for delivery on 6/22/2020. Called at 2 pm to check on order and was told that order would be delivered by 7pm tonight! When asked for more specific delivery time, I was placed on hold. It is not 2:42 as I type this-I have been on hold for 42 minutes.

I ordered Flowers and chocolates for my daughter in law for her birthday, the flowers arrived 3 days late, she did not get everything that I ordered and was still charged for everything on my order. I will never order from this knock off company ever again! I thought the company was based out of my home state and later found out that they are based out of New Jersey! I spent over two hours on the phone and complained about their services as I dealt with them. They said they were going to upgrade my order for the mix-up but in the end they ended up delivering the smallest bouquet! They lie about everything and should be held accountable for false advertising! This company should be shut down! I called them at least six times before they got the order out! Very frustrating!

Avas Flowers - Service

Ordered flowers to be delivered on June 15th, 2020 for a 50th wedding anniversary. Received a call on the day flowers were to be delivered saying a "problem" couldn't deliver to this residents, no explanation as to what the problem was, but that "Farm Fresh, " something about, them? would deliver a nice arrangement, but couldn't deliver on the day that was requested but would deliver on the 16th, which was a big disappointment, as wanted it to be a surprise for the special day. But when I was finally able to talk with someone there, Anna, she says that she would call the recipients to apologize about the delay, and that they would send "24 red roses, " I didn't order red roses, order was a mixed flower bouquet or something similar. When I went back to cancel the order with them, because I did not want red roses, she put me on hold, when she came back on the line, she then described a bouquet that they would send, with description on flowers that would be in the arrangement. So where did red roses come into this order? was it because I was going to cancel the order? I just found out the delivery was not made today either, but my credit card has been billed! Flowers order for friends birthday. They did not deliver and scheduled it for the next day. I called and after numerous attempts was finally able to reach customer service. It took me almost an hour on the phone, I finally got frustrated and canceled the order. DO NOT USE AVAS FLOWERS. Funny, they even told me they would call the recipient to apologize and explain the delay. Seriously? This was a SURPRISE birthday arrangement. What a horrible company! Plus they state they are a family owned business. Try to find the family that owns this company.

Avas Flowers - "local" flower delivery

On their website they advertised as a local florist in chico, ca. I ordered from their website on 6/5/20 for a next day saturday delivery in chico and paid $9.99 for delivery by 2pm in addition to their regular delivery fee of $9.99. No where did it say a saturday delivery wasn't available or that any other fees would be charged. Saturday comes & goes with no flowers. I called their 800# saturday afternoon, was on hold for 30 minutes then was told i'd get a call back by 6pm. No call came. On monday I learned they aren't even in chico (they are in new jersey!) and they just forward the delivery request to an actual local florist and charge to do that. The flowers were delivered two days later which is also when I finally received my receipt, where I found that I was charged an extra $18 "service fee". After everything, for a $69 bouquet it cost a total of $121. I finally reached someone at ava's flowers and she said I didn't pay for expedited delivery! She actually argued with me even though I was looking at the charges on my receipt! Long story short - she said she would credit back to me $20 and that it would take 7-9 business days to see the credit. False advertising, horrible customer service...
