I recently purchased a pair of London Fog boots for my Great Grandaughter at the Ocean, NJ store or Neptune. Not sure of the town this store is in but it is in the 07712 area of NJ.
The 9 was too big and went back to get an 8. There was NO customer service. I was told to go try to find the 8, but the 8 did not exist. Went back and was told to wait in line to get a store credit. LONG LINE and had to wait to get up to the register and told that I needed an ID for a store credit. Didn't have one with me and had to go all the way home, came back and was told to wait in line, again. LONG LINE and totally upset when I finally got to a register. Where your "customer service" dept. used to be is a pigpen, with stock all over the place and your manager was a waste of time and some of your cashiers look like they just crossed the border. This store has gone down the tubes and perhaps because of lousy management, because I should not have had to wait in that line TWICE to get something done. Also, there were only TWO registers open which made my wait in line absolutely ridiculous. Finally I think someone noticed that I was very upset and started calling for more cashiers, who were probably hanging out in the stockroom. Now I know why I'm going to continue to use Amazon. Years ago you had a very efficient customer service with nice people and now you have a mish mosh of people that could care less and are clearly there for the paycheck ONLY. "Sorry, you have to wait in line" and I cannot tell you how long the line was, with only two cashiers. I've shopped Marshal's since my children were very young in the Shrewbury, NJ store and have always loved the store, but now it is being taken over by loons. I remember when the Ocean store had shoes all over the floor, which has improved, but now your customer service counter is non-existent and weird people working there. One guy was hanging around what used to be customer service talking to himself and nobody budged. He could have been a serial killer and nobody seemed to notice this strange man, talking to himself and pacing around what used to be customer service. Then a thin, young guy was there acting like he was the manager, or President or someone in authority and payed no attention to me at all, as I was thinking, hmmmmmmmmmmm maybe he is customer service.
At my last meeting with a cashier, I got a very nice fellow, but with the weirdest hairdo. You need some sort of dress code and need to spruce up that store. What I went through was horrible. Just horrible and I'm 75yr. old and was treated like someone who just got out of prison. "You'll have to wait in the line" still rings in my ears.
Disappointed and dismayed by the lack of courtesy, professionalism and disorganization,
