I was checking out at my local Marshall's when I stated to the cashier that the entire clothing purchase I made was "rolled" into a huge ball and shoved into a bag. I can only assume that the Cashier got upset when I stated that I was unhappy with the way the clothes were folded and shoved into the bag, the next items she bagged was a toy in a hard plastic case and a hairbrush in a box that she literally through at me which struck my arthritic hand! At this point I demanded to speak to the manager and after 3 requests for the manager, the cashier ran to another cashier crying and both cashiers left their registers and customers (me and another customer) and eventually the manager came.
Now, this gets ridiculous. The manager stands in front of me repeating, "I don't know what to say!". I then said, "Would you yourself like to buy new clothing and they were a gift to someone else and have to go home and iron them?". These were the outrageous responses from the manager: 1. She didn't know they were a gift 2. I don't buy clothes that need ironed 3. I never iron anything!
Both the manager and the cashiers need evaluated. The manager was incompetent, and if the cashier would have at least apologized, I would have not said another word! I will never step into that Marshall's again.
Desired outcome: I want an apology from the cashier, and I want the manager to apologize to me and express to me how she should have handled the situation.
