I purchased 3 items from their online store and there was no mention of store credit return policy anywhere
I purchased 3 items from their online store and there was no mention of store credit return policy anywhere. The purchase was for $297.89 on 3/28/21. On 3/28/21 I purchased 3 dresses for my son's wedding, the total of 298.89. I was an avid shopper of steinmart when there were store locations, I received the first dress and the size was not suitable and sent a request to the start a return/refund, I was told they do store credit only! There was no mention on the website during my transaction that store credit was the policy, or I would not have made a purchase. I was only made awre of this when I contacted customer service via email, I called them to complain and told them they had very deceptive refund policy and no where on the site did it say store credit only. I spoke with khattab, he sent me a label and also contacted the processing department to cancel the other 2 dresses and I no longer wanted to shop with a retailer that had store credit only refund policy, and I wanted my refund and it was excalated to dan jonathn, steinmart retail supervior [protected]. And he stated in an email that I would get a monetary refund instead of a store credit. I ended up receiving the other 2 dresses on 4/4/21 and immediately contacted customer service to complain and request a monetary refund as the those 2 dresses were not shipped at the time of my first call. Again I am being told they will only give me a store credit. I want my money back in full and they need to change their online shopping site to highlight the fact that they only give store credits.
Credit never given for returned items
I ordered 3 tops in Dec. 2022. Two of them were way too small so I contacted them to return them. It took multiple times before someone finally returned my email in Jan of 2023. They sent me a return label and I mailed the 2 items back the next day. It's now April and I've yet to receive the credit for these items. I have tried repeatedly to contact them, but can't reach them. The phone numbers aren't functioning and emails only get a computer generated reply with excuses about the busy holiday, though it's well past. It's obvious this company commits theft since they won't reply and won't give the store credit as they state.
Desired outcome: I want the store credit for these 2 items I returned.
Order scam
On October 27 we ordered a piece of furniture from Stein Mart online. Paid by credit card which hit our bill in December for $492.95. We received no documentation provided on the purchase and no communication on delivery of the product. They have not delivered the product to date which we now do not want and we have no way to cancel the order that they appear to have no desire to fulfil. They also had us sign up for a monthly membership fee which we supposedly could cancel at any time for $9.99 per month. We cannot cancel as there is no way to accomplish that with them. So we now are out the $492 plus ongoing charges of 9.99 per month with no delivery or communication on the item we purchased. The inability to contact them would suggest a scam has been perpetrated at our expense.
Desired outcome: We seek repayment for the $492.95 and cancellation of the ongoing monthly fee of $9.99.

In 2020 I received two e-credit merchandise credit cards from the Brookfield, WI store located at 16950 W Bluemound Rd, Brookfield, WI 53005
United States. I contacted Stein Mart customer service at [protected] at 1:38 pm CST on 7/28/21 to request a refund check in the amount of e-credit on each card. I spoke with Frank, the customer service representative, who stated that these cards are no longer valid per the old management. He went on to say that I could email a picture of the front and back of the cards to the new management at [protected]@steinmart.com and I would receive $25 in total per person NOT per card and NOT for the dollar amount of the store credit. I have one e-credit that is $63.02. $25 isn't even half of my hard earned money that I paid on that card alone. I do not know the total e-credit on the other card. It is appalling and deceitful to not honor the total dollar amount I paid for the merchandise. I would like the total dollar amount of EACH e-credit refunded to me via check.
Desired outcome: I would like the total amount of each e-credit card refunded to me via check within 30 days.
Return and products
I purchased two pictures and did not realize the stores have closed. They will only give a store credit which didn't bother me until I looked at the website and found nothing! The few items they sell are garbage. I can't find one thing I would buy. I called and they will not give a refund under any circumstance. Now I am getting a message that my complaint is too short and will probably not get noticed. Are you kidding me? What kind of scam company has Stein Mart turned into?

Shades of blue abstract velvet square pillow
I have spent the last 45-50 minutes trying to place an order for this pillow. I got a pop up saying I could get 15% off on my order if I gave them my email and phone number, so I did. They sent me the code for 15% off to my text message. I have tried that code twice on my laptop and was told to use a valid code, I have tried it on my iphone and again was told to put in a valid code and I also tried it on my ipad and I got the same response. The last time I tried to order the pillow I got another pop up that said I could get a 10% off code if I just gave them my email, so I put my email in and I got a message saying that they already had my email. I decided to call the customer service number to get help from them. I have been calling them and I have either been getting a busy signal or a message that says please dial the number again and a hang up for the last hour!
I have about had it with this company! They say they will give you codes that they then don't honor, just so they can get you to the point of buying from them-

Return policy
I purchased 2 items on March 9th and received them on the 15th. I needed to return them. (30 day return policy)
The return policy is one of the worse in the industry. In order to start the return process, you need to email customer service, and they email back asking a series of questions. I started this process on the 18th. I answered all their questions and I've been emailing daily waiting for a "return address". I'm responsible for shipping costs. So how difficult is it to send me the correct return address, since I'm paying for shipping. The other upsetting thing is that I won't even get a refund to my credit card that I will only get store credit. This is ridiculous. It makes me wonder if I'll even get a refund once they receive the items back.
I will never order from Steinmart again. This has been the worst customer service ever.

Return policy
I accept that a return postage is not paid for, however I have made several attempts to return a dress, only to find the return phone # says they are closed... Or that they are not open until 11am central time. I was returning the dress because the pink color in the dress was much brighter in reality and I didnt like it. When I finally got a person to talk to for return instructions, it took many questions and 30 minutes on the phone to find out I needed to take a picture of the dress to show them that the dress was not the same color as presented on line. When they receive the picture they would decide if they could send me a shipping label, and then, if approved they would give me a store credit. I don't want store credit for a company that won't easily take returns, especially in a time of quarantine when most clothes shopping is being done on line. I shopped at steinmart for over 20 years, and this is no longer the steinmart we knew. Do not shop here.

I never recieved it after waiting a week or so.I called same # again. spoke with CSR who again said she would see that a return label was sent to me. I ask if it was coming to me by mail or email.She said email & I should recieve it in 24 hrs. Its been 3 days now and have not gotten it.I even ask her if I could just have the return address over the phone & I would pay the shipping, she said no she would have the label sent email.

Order 2607 - black halter dress
I have sent a few letters to [protected]@steinmart.com but no one gets back to me. I usually LOVE the quality of all your Stein Mart products and used to shop often in the store before the bankruptcy. I was very disappointed with this black halter dress! The order number is 2607. It is cheaply made and not at all true to size. The size XL seems like it would probably fit a small child! Needless to say I need to return this and get fully refunded the $47.75 to my debit card ending in 0726. Can you please send me the address and a return label so I can return asap. Thank you. On Sat 23 Jan 2021 I ordered a dress from Stein Mart on line. As of this date (8 days later) I have not received acknowledgement of my order or shipping information, however, the charges were posted to my Discover card account on the 23rd. Please cancel the order and credit my account accordingly.

I ordered a dress online on 8/15/20 and never received it. I was charged $67.98 on my Paypal account. It was a navy blue dress. I am a senior citizen and can't afford to lose that amount. I didn't realize that they had declared bankruptcy. That's probably the reason they didn't email me a confirmation or a packing slip. This is no way to treat a loyal customer.

Iiam sorry to see you closing stores. Iam very disappointed in an occurrence a few days ago. Purchased a top, which was both available in small and large. Unintentionally put the small one in my basket. I am a size 40d so obviously didnot intend to buy a small one.
Upon realizing that I immediately went back the next day to explain and asked could I please go get the large one. The manager (lillian) was unreasonable and rude, and told me absolutely not. I tried to explain not returning it just exchanging for the correct size.

Good morning. I three of the above soap cradle dishes which about 2 weeks ago which were expected to be mailed out within a week. Please note that I realize the Steinmart stores will be closing unfortunately but I would like an update to see if my items for this order are going to still be sent out. Anne manages the fitting rooms at the store. She is very aggressive and rude. When I needed to use the fitting room, she physically blocked the way! I understand that I was taking more than 6 pieces of clothes to the fitting room (the policy states that you can take no more than 6 prices of clothes at a time). But her behavior was not appropriate toward me as a customer. Blocking the way to the fitting room? Talking rudely? Is it acceptable for Stein Mart employees?
I do not wish to shop at this store anymore, so my friends, because my friends also do not appreciate her unwelcoming attitude. It means that Stein Mart loses customers, therefore loses money.
I would like my local Stein Mart store replace Anne with a different employee who is welcoming, nice, and professional, so that I and my friends enjoy shopping at our local Stein Mart store.

I purchased a throw on 12-12-2022 for $124.36. Order number is not provided here. I have not received it. I have contacted them through emails at a provided address but only receive a standard message assigning an inquiry number. No further communication has been received. I haven't been provided any type of tracking number, such as from FedEx or other carriers. I would like a refund in cash versus a gift card. The gift card credit on file with Stein Mart is $158.68. This claim is for a cash refund of $158.68. I no longer desire to purchase any merchandise from them.
Order number obscured, consisting of 2 dresses. Received only one dress, with the second one on backorder. The quality of the received dress did not meet expectations. Requested a return label and sent the dress back, also requested the cancellation of the second dress. Was informed that I would receive store credit for the returned dress, but it was never issued. Initially, communication was reasonable, but it has since deteriorated, with no further updates. Eventually, the second dress arrived. Again, I requested a return label, but it was not provided. Despite sending frequent emails to request a return label and a refund, the only responses received are repetitive emails stating, 'We are experiencing high call volume, please be patient.'
