Abbey Dental - Abbey Dental Eastern in Las Vegas, Nevada

My husband had a root canal and cap work done in 2016 with Abbey Dental on Eastern in Las Vegas. When he had it done, they said it was a lifetime warranty and they stood behind all their work. If he had issues, no matter how long ago, they would take care of him.

The entire cost was close to $2000. Which they talked us into financing. Instead of paying cash.

We thought that was odd at the time but have since learned that is standard procedure as they share the interest from the charges with the lender. So it's a side thing for them. A non disclosed side hustle rip off for customers to make more profit. Plus they can then over charge for the service because it's not a cash procedure.

So fast forward to June 2022. He was flossing his teeth and the cap came off.

It happens, but then he recalled that they said it was covered for life when he got it done in 2016.

So he called and went in to get it cleaned and glued back on.

The dentist did a few xrays and said that he was lucky that nothing was wrong and that it would be an easy clean and reglue. To take a seat in the lobby and they would call him back when they had the room ready for it.

30 minutes later a receptionist came out and said they needed to do another xray.

Then 30 minutes later they said they had to do a third one.

Then the dentist called him back and started pointing at an area of his tooth, not the cap his tooth and was trying to convince him there was now a brown spot on it indicating decay.

My husband said there was nothing there and that he was feeling scammed. Then sure enough to top it off, their thug suit finance guy came in and tried to tell him that he would have to get a new full root canal and crown. And that he could only do it if he financed and it was going to cost...you guessed it $2000!

Well needless to say he left. AND...just to illustrate how crooked they are, he went to two other dentists, without telling them what happened. And nothing was wrong, he got his tooth fixed.

the other dentists then confirmed that not only was his tooth not infected, that likely he did not need the original work done in the first place.

Don't go to this dentist office, they are scammers and thieves.

Desired outcome: Just want people to know so they don't get taken advantage of like we did.

Abbey Dental - Defective Partial

My husbands 1st visit was on 10/16/14 at 3pm for consult for top denture. I was up front with the Dr. stating that I did not want to root canal or save any teeth by putting a band aide on with getting a partial vs a full denture & later on ending up having to pull the rest of the teeth for a full denture. The Dr talked me out of getting a denture & said I was young yet even thou it turned out my top teeth were in bad shape like I thought because in the end of all of this, Debra K went over my teeth in a phone conversation with my wife saying she wasn't sure why the Dr thought it was fine for just a partial when really the teeth needed a lot of work & money to save them. We didn't want to spend a ton of money for a partial to turn around a year later or whatever down the road to pay more for a denture when we could have just done that to begin with. 2nd visit 10/16/14 3pm. My wife & I had appts to get our teeth whitened on a special & I was to have a mold made for partial but the Dr left so I had to reschedule another appt for that. I got my teeth whitened. My wife was suppose to have her teeth cleaned & whitened but they could not find her appt even thou she made them together. She did not get her teeth cleaned because the person already left. & some random lady did the whitening as well because we were told that person was gone too. The teeth whitening did not work either which we later got a refund after complaining. 3rd visit 10/31/2014 630am for mold. I had to schedule this early so I would not miss any more work. 4th visit 12/04/14- had some teeth pulled on top for partial. Received partial & it doesn't fit, the teeth look like baby teeth, not matching my others at all & where the fake plastic flesh is to meet mine, there's a gap, a hole. Keep in mind I am getting married in a few weeks on 12/31/2014. 5th visit 12/09/14- this was for a check up & to address the problems of it not fitting, it hurts, the teeth are the wrong size & the fake gum needs filled in. It turns out when I got there the Dr went home sick. I missed more work and traveled across town wasting my gas & time. Someone tried to fix the partial & it only made it worse. 6th visit 12/29/14 430pm. I scheduled another appt because I can hardly eat or talk right with the partial in. Now I am stressing right before my wedding. Still not any better so now I go buy glue for temp help to get thru my wedding. 03/18/15 I called & was put in voice mail for a manager re a complaint & the recording said I would be called back within 24 hrs. Still no call back, I am done with this place, I can't keep missing work & driving that far across town. I just want my money back so I can go somewhere else that knows what they are doing. Now I have a sore in my mouth! On 03/26/15 I filed a complaint with BBB.
On 04/13/15 1st call with Kimberly p, manager, we were offered free teeth whitening with a better new product. I said no, I don't want to travel that far again, I want a refund. 2nd call at 339pm from Debra k we discussed whitening refunds which we ended up receiving & talked about bobby's bad partial & she would discuss with Dr & call me back. We wanted to get this done before flying out of state in Aug 2015 for our wedding reception. She called me back & said we have 3 options. 1- return partial & refund our money of $409 & $447 back to insurance co. 2- remake the partial like the one he has now. 3- go with a dif, better kind of partial that grabs the gums & is more expensive $894. They would need to charge us for this one. 07/24/15 Debra called me we discussed they would need to charge us for upgraded partial. Or they will refund us the money once it's returned to them. They would not refund our money up front to go to another dentist. And now they are saying they won't fix the existing partial by replacing with a new one like it & I said that is fine because bobby doesn't trust you people now or feel comfortable that we would go somewhere else. We told them once bobby got a new denture after being covered on wife's insurance for a period of time we would be in for the refund in exchange for the partial. He can't go without teeth or missing teeth. I have emails starting on 08/20/15 requesting they put in writing of conversation of the refund which I will forward to you in a separate email. Besides my email traffic with Debra & then finally her not responding back, in Jan 2016 I started calling her, I left a voicemail & emails re refund that bobby's last appt with new dentist would be on Jan 26, 2016 & we would be in for the refund. On 01/27/16 we went to the abbey dental office & asked for Debra. She conveniently said her computer system was down & could not get to the notes & that they would not be refunding our money after all. I said are you sure you want to do this over $400? That now we will reopen the BBB claim & report them to the NV dental board & I will go to the news station to make others aware. REFUND!
UPDATE- I did a review on yelp & then was contacted by Abbey & they were willing to refund my money of $409 but I needed to sign doc. But when I went there the doc did not say what we agreed on. They wanted me to not do anymore reviews or report them to the dental board & delete my reviews. We than agreed on what the wording needed to say & after sitting for 1 hr for them to correct it in exchange for our refund check we told them to forget it, we were tired of waiting & were going to report them after all. Liars, scammers, poor management! STAY AWAY!
