RC Willey Home Furnishings - Flooring

We purchased wood flooring to add on to our existing flooring. The experience was not good from the very beginning where we had little help from the busy salesperson in selecting the flooring, even though we brought in a sample of what we already had. We were there for over 2 hours. It then took almost 2 months to get the order in. When the installer came to put it in, he said it needed to acclimate to our home for 48 hours. We called the manufacturer of the flooring to double check and was told that this is correct. We then called RCW to let them know and reschedule the install, we were spoken to rudely and told that it did not need to acclimate and that now we would not be able to get back on the schedule for another 2 months! We cancelled the install and set it up ourselves and the installer returned the following week. Unfortunately, when he took the wood out of the box and tried to fit it to our flooring, it would not work. The thickness and heights were too different and he said it would be uneven and wouldn't seam with our existing flooring. He said our only option was to return it. The boxes were fully sealed and only a few pieces were taken out (and returned). The warehouse said they have never seen anything returned in such good condition. My complaint is that upon return I was told there was a 20% nonrefundable stocking fee. It cost us $300 to return. No one offered to help find an adequate replacement. They just took our $300 and sent us packing. Right now we are in the midst of a pandemic and most companies are offering more lenient return policies. I am appalled that RCW would take hundreds of dollars from customers without providing a service.

RC Willey Home Furnishings - fraud

I purchased a higher end laptop from R.C. Willey's in Reno, Nv on Thursday, January 12th. I needed to use it for a photo shoot I was doing in Lake Tahoe that weekend. I got to the cabin where the shoot was staged and unpacked the laptop. Plugged it in, turned it on and got some lights on the keyboard. Nothing else. I unplugged it, took the battery out, tried again...same thing. I had an old, inadequate laptop with me so I simply packaged the new one back up and went about my business, as time was an issue and the old laptop would serve my basic functions (but I lost a lot of time in not being able to use it for the photography itself). I returned to Reno the following Sunday to find R.C. Willey's closed. I live 170 miles away, so obviously this isn't ideal. I was fortunate enough to have a friend return the laptop for me the following day. A "technician" at R.C. Willey's looked at it, saw the same behavior, supposedly looked it up online and said it was a "manufacturer's defect with a certain batch". They credited my card and gave my friend a slip with wording to that effect. They later proceeded to accuse me of stealing parts out of it and even though they claim it has "fingerprints all over the inside of it", they have no interest in turning it over to the police for proper processing. They have lied to me and been caught in the lie, more than once. Their G.M., their corporate offices and their "Loss Prevention Manager" have either not returned my call or not called me when I was told they would. So, basically, R.C. Willey's thinks it's okay to sell you defective equipment, accuse you of stealing without any due process to prove it and try to fraud you out of hundreds of dollars ($1400 in this case). Giving you the "option" of returning it to the manufacturer for "warranty issues". Which is just further fraud, as I am sure they know the manufacturer isn't going to warranty a device with missing parts. Even if it was a warranty issue, I didn't do business with the manufacturer. I did business with R. C. Willey's and returned a defective item within 4 days of purchasing it (in the EXACT condition it was sold to me). That is their problem to contend with. I have said multiple times that I was willing to work with the Reno P.D. to exonerate myself of any wrong doing. They want no part of that. They simply want to lie and steal my money. I have never (and will hopefully never again), done business with a company so devoid of logic, customer service mentality or even common sense, in my life.
