I was working for Dollar General from Saturday June 25th, 2022 to Friday July 22nd, 2022. I was only a part time sales associate for the Cuba, NY location. I had gotten called into work (asked to cover other employees shifts, which I agreed to every time) about four or five times. One of the times that I had covered someone else's shift was Thursday July 14th. The shift that I was covering was either 3pm to 10:15pm or 6pm to 10:15pm. I was working with this kid named Josh (I call everyone who is younger than myself a kid) this night. He had stated to me more than once that he was not used to closing the Cuba store, he was more used to closing the Belmont store. He had also told me that he didn't want me to put the money from my drawer (the last cash pick up) in the safe. In between him doing what he had to do we did have a few conversations, like about how the cameras are all fully functioning (this was actually a huge comfort to me knowing this), and about how I smoke pot to help with my bodily aches and pains and him doing cocaine. He had taken his drawer out and took that into the office to count the money from his drawer. While he was doing this, I had done my last cash pick up, grabbed the two deposit slips. I had put one slip on top of the $100 (that I had taken out for my cash pick up) and the other one in my drawer. I had walked over to the safe, grabbed an envelope and put the money and the slip in this envelope. I had set it down and then picked it back up, set it back down and picked it back up. After I had picked the money back up, I had taken it with me around the store. While I was walking around the store looking for merchandise that customers are too lazy to put back where they had gotten an item from, I was grabbing the merchandise and putting it back where it belonged. While I was doing this, I had put that money in my pocket and carried on with what I was doing. When I had put this money in my pocket, I had made sure that I did this on camera. Then sometime later, Josh finally comes back out of the office and he walks over to my register and takes my drawer out, then he walks over to the safe and grabs the money from there. It was at this point where he stands up and I hand him the $100 that I had in my pocket. After I handed him the money and I watched him put this money with the money from the safe, I followed him in to the office. I had stood about a foot away from the corner of the desk where Josh was standing and had the money and my drawer sitting. I had watched him count my drawer and the money from the safe (including the money I had handed him) at least two times. While he was counting everything he was also calling and texting anyone he could get a hold of to help him with this task. While he was counting all of the money and texting and calling, I had walked out of the office and into the break room at least two times to get something to drink. When he was finally able to get a hold of someone (the person on the other end sounded like a woman, he had his phone on speaker) I had walked out of the office and the break room until he was done with his phone call. He had finally gotten the money all situated and ready for the nightly bank deposit we had left. He had dropped me off at my apartment building close to 11pm, then he went to the bank. I was falsely fired, and forced to go back on full welfare. I am falsely accused of stealing money from a job that I was very very happy having.
Desired outcome: I would like for both Josh and I to take a lie detector test.

The big mistake was you putting the money in your pocket and walking around the store. That's what they saw on the camera. When you make a drop, you are to put the money into the safe. Or you should have put the money in the office and locked it. You are not to have money on your person at any time. You had messed up there
