General Motors - 2011 silverado 1500 4wd ext. cab.

I started buying Chev. vehicles when I bought a new 1963 Chev. Impala. I have stayed with Chevy since buying only Chevy vehicles. I took to heart your slogan " The most dependable and longest lasting trucks on the road". Now not so sure. I bought a new 2011 Silverado 4wd. extended cab at Laria Chevrolet in Rittman, Ohio about Dec. 20, 2010. The first services were performed there, oil changes, lube, etc.

About 36, 000 miles it suddenly started flashing dash warnings and would not exceed 20 mph. Only 3 miles from Van Devere Chevrolet in Akron Ohio, I went there to have it checked where they informed me that the throttle body sensor was the problem and it would be covered under the drive train warranty. I stated that I thought the warranty stated I had to return to Laria which was about 28 miles away and they stated no, any Chevy dealer can do warranty work. Since it is only about 4 miles from my residence to Van Devere Chevrolet, I started doing service with them.

About 62, 000 miles the left front hub went out costing me $600. + where I was told that the power train warranty did not cover after the 2010 model year and GM was aware these hubs were bad so stopped covering them as it was costing big bucks to replace them under the power train warranty. WTH?

69, 000 miles. Yesterday, 12-11-18, Engine symbol appears yellow on dash and oil pressure gauge shows 0 oil pressure. I called a tow truck and took the truck to Van Devere Chev. where they now inform me that 2 sensors of some kind have failed and the cost will be close to $1, 000.

Also informed me the upper ball joints are loose and this will cost over $1, 200. I asked why, if all lubes were done by Chevy dealers, the ball joints would be failing after less than 70, 000 miles. Reply-"Don't know but it's a common problem."

My buddy has a Ford pickup he bought new the same time I bought this Chevy and he has over 130, 000 miles on it with no problems mechanically at all with it.

Needless to say, this 2011 Silverado has disgusted me with Chevrolet and there is a good possibility that Ford is selling me my next truck .
