Huntington Bank has royally sucked ever since I started my mortgage with them 10+ years ago. To say they are slow as molasses is a severe understatement. I have had many complaints over the years (including a refi with them several years ago which took nearly 4 months to complete due to severe incompetence on their end), however, my current complaint is this: I have been unemployed due to covid since april 2020. In may of 2020 I had no choice but to go into forbearance on my mortgage payments for two months, immediately after which I was able to remove my account from that forbearance. Huntington gave me two choices to bring my account up to date (mind you, I had only missed 2 payments)... Either 1) pay the amount owed for those two months in one lump (which was difficult for me to do at the time due to being unemployed with zero income), or 2) tack the amount owed (approx $3k) onto the end of my mortgage. I chose option #2. It took huntington 2 months to send me the applicable paperwork necessary to sign off on in order to accomplish this... In the meantime, I was receiving overdue statements from them regularly (even though I had continued to make my monthly mortgage payments on time via phone each month... This was due to the fact that huntington couldn't get it together to be able to update my account online so that I could make my regularly scheduled monthly payments online). After many phone calls and many hours spent on hold with huntington, I finally received the aforementioned paperwork, signed it immediately and returned it to them within 24 hours. That was in early august 2020. Here we are now 7 months later in march 2021 and huntington still has not updated my account accordingly. I still receive overdue notices monthly regardless of having been current / up to date on all of my payments for nearly 9 months now. They also still have not updated my account online so I am still unable to make online payments... I am forced to call and sit on hold for hours on end every month just to make a payment. I have spoken with dozens of customer service reps who have told me they will "look into it" or "have a manager contact me to sort it out" or "make sure my account is updated asap" etc... All of this is merely lip service and nothing is ever done. Every month I receive the same overdue statements which have the incorrect amount due. This is infuriating beyond belief, as you can imagine. When I call and ask to speak with a manager or someone who can help me resolve this right then and there I am told "we can't transfer you to a manager... They will need to call you back"... And of course this "call back" never happens. This situation is now at a critical phase as I am selling the property in question which is now under contract and set to close within 30 days. Thus, I need to get this account up to date asap and of course I have zero confidence that it will happen prior to my closing. Huntington is by far the worst company I have ever had the displeasure of working with. Avoid at all costs!
Desired outcome: I would like to be contacted ASAP by a manager in the Forbearance Dept at Huntington Bank who can actually resolve my issue ASAP (within 48 hrs or no later than March 12th).
