I am filing a complaint/appeal for charges from Aspen Dental in Grants Pass OR. I went in to see them on 1/13/2021 to see if they could fix my front tooth that had chipped & thin. I was told they could fix it with a crown that would work for my 2 front tooth & the eye tooth on each side of the front tooth. I was very happy to hear that. I went into a room to talk to someone about charges. I gave her both of my insurance plans, CIGNA & PACIFIC SOURCE. She confirmed they accept both. She punched in what was going to be done for my 4 front teeth & said I would need to pay $600.00 which is did, then on 2/4/2021 I went in to make sure the new crowns fit. I had an issue so I went back on 3/11/2021 to have everything checked & had to put a stronger glue on one of my eye teeth next to the front. They told me the balance due is $441.10 which at that time. I made another appt but then I got a bill for over $4000.00 dollars & canceled my appt. The office looked into it & said that was incorrect. I still had a bad feeling about the offices practice & record keeping. I called today after getting a bill the other day now for $1128.50. when I called the office today (8/3/21) I spoke with Holly & asked her for the corporate #. She said she didn't have it. She then proceeded to let me know that they have down that I had 5 crowns put on also that is why the high cost. That is not correct. I had just had a crown put on 11/25/2021. I don't have enough teeth left in my mouth to put crowns on. I told her that can't be correct, she then said that is what the statement has & it can't be changed. I agree, once it's charged you can't make chart changes (I worked in the medical insurance for 20yrs). I told her that when the charges were entered the mistake was made. I told her I would go to another dentist & have them look at my mouth & let me know where the new crowns were then let them know. She did not like me saying that. She was overtalking to me as well I was overtalking her because of my frustraction. I told her the info is wrong & that someone is lying. I was not attacking her personally just the way the office bills & pads the bills. I have read many many other comments about Aspen Dental & even talked to one of the patients & they told me that office kept telling her she needed to pay more & more. It is disturbing. I am 65 & a responsible person & would know what was being done in my mouth. I am hoping this issue may be reviewed & the bill I got for $1128.50 written off. I feel I was totally misleaded.
Thank you for your time & listening to me. I look forward to hearing from me.
