My family and I have been customers since the Old Country Buffet closed in Bensalem, PA. We supported the restaurant during the recent pandemic, continuing our weekly Friday visits. On June 2, 2023, we arrived at the Street Road restaurant in Bensalem, paid our bill and waited to be seated. My family consists of 3 adults (2 seniors, 1 adult). My mother is confined to a wheelchair. Due to the size of the wheelchair, we favor sitting at a larger table. A table for 4 is too small. The restaurant was maybe 45% full. The hostess (a young black woman) sat us at a table for 4. The table we usually sit at was not occupied and we requested it. She said "NO, SIT HERE!" I told her that it was too small and would not comfortably accommodate the wheelchair. She ignored me. I told her I would have to leave. She said "GO". I handed her my receipt and asked her to start the refund, until I was able to turn my Mom's wheelchair around and get to the register. She then started screaming at me and belittling me in front of all the other customers and refused to help me. I was in the last dining room. It became so bad that one of the wait staff that we know from Old Country Buffet helped me by taking the receipt to the front. She continued screaming at us, through the restaurant, from the last dining room to the register. It didn't stop there. She continued retelling the story to a young man who has also been assigned as host. I requested to see the manger. He refunded the money, but said nothing to comment on her actions. She has ended our weekly relationship with your restaurant. I am considering filing a complaint with the Bensalem police for elder abuse.
Desired outcome: I would like an apology and complimentary dinner for 3.
