Hello,
I went to visit the location (New Alexandria, PA) of speedway this evening. As I entered the store there was a clerk sitting outside. She mumbled for me to throw my bags in the dumpster at the end of the building as she followed me in the store. I later went to purchase a drink and lottery tickets and unfortunately she waited on me. This woman seems to need some customer service training and hospitality training. Not phony but true customer service. She needs it.

Speedway - Maintenance/security of pumping stations
These are a couple of first-hand experiences of using the relatively new Speedway gas station in New Alexandria, PA. None of my feedback involves interaction with employees or inside the store. I simply wish to fill my tank and be on my way.
1) I have refueled at the station at least half a dozen times. Of HALF of those—after refueling completed—the pump screen indicated that it was out of receipt paper! As sophisticated and high-tech as modern pumps are, there is no reason why the computer display cannot indicate this deficiency BEFORE the current customer selects a specific pump. NOTE: If this persists at Speedway pumps and the manufacturers who produce them, I believe the Americans with Disabilities Act will have something to say about unnecessarily withholding information and compelling people to go inside the store in order to receive their receipt.
2) At one of my half-dozen visits, a "customer" was walking from pump to pump with a 5 gal. soliciting Speedway customers to help get him some gas. He obviously felt security was so lax that he could keep this up for many minutes. I noticed in the back of his pick-up was - no joke - at least 25 more of those cans either filled or unfilled! I am willing to put this down to an anomaly occurrence at your business, but in all my decades of refueling at the competitor station my hometown, I have never encountered anything like this.
3) My elderly mother, who recommended to me that we patronize Speedway in the first place, came home just a few days ago very dissatisfied with her experience. The pump would not accept our USUAL credit card (in good standing) for payment; she had to take more time to go inside the store; an employee told her it happens because the maintenance personnel have not checked the pump. Again: as sophisticated as these pumps are today with computer analyses and large screens, they cannot help customers know the status before they get out of their vehicle?!
My mother was frustrated—as I would be too— when asked at the desk, to guess how much gas she wanted to put in when she had come to fill the tank. I suppose you were going to have my Mom walk back in a second time to request a refund?!
My mother wants us to go back to the competitor in town. I am willing to give your station another chance. Please correct these issues. I thank you.
