Dear wawa corporate, a very disturbing, unethical behaviorial, incident occurred to me today, while visiting one of you store locations.
1:35 p.M. Today, 4-4-2019, I entered wawa, located on the corner of broad and walnut street. Store# 8069, exact address: 201 south broad street, philadelphia, pa 19107, to inquire about the price, and purchase a cold drink. The cashier, I politely and respectfully approached, quoted me the price of a 32oz drink, and retrieved me a cup. When he placed the cup on the counter, he suddenly gripped the top of the cup with his left hand, with his indexed and middle finger, 1-1/2 inch inside the cup. I politely asked him "could you please grab me another cup, your fingers just touched the inside of the cup, which is now cross contaminated. He looked at me, with a disappointing expression on his face, then looked at the customer, that was standing next to me, rolled his eyes up to the ceiling and sighed. He then, very slowly, crushed the cup he contaminated, threw it in the trash, and eventually, retrieved me a fresh cup. I then asked him, where were the lids, he sarcastically said, they're in the back of the store! As he was pointing in that direction. I told him, i'd pay for the cup now, then pick up a lid, when I get my drink. He rudely replied,"I can't take you right now, I just rung this customer up, you'll have to wait. I then said, "oh really? Ok. I guess i'll just pay for it at check out". No reply, from him, to me, at all. He just told the customer, the price of her items. I then walked to the back of the store, got my drink, then went directly, to the first store manager I seen, and reported the employee's, extremely, disrespectful, and in my honest opinion, racist behaviors.
The reason I honestly believe, his behaviors were of a racist nature, because he displayed the signs, of racist behaviors. Unnecessarily rude, disrespectful, mean, nasty, disgruntled, immediately, put the caucasian customer before me, for service, disrespecting me at the very start of our encounter, and displaying his disapprovement, of my asking for a clean cup, with very clear facial expressions, to the caucasian customer, blatantly. It's no secret, racism towards the black race, has blatantly, been rearing its ugly head, more and more, on a daily, minute, hour, second's basis, since trump has fooled these kinds of people, into thinking it's ok, to misbehave, in this way. Well, it isn't! Not now, not ever. I never tolerated racism, displayed, made caucasians, or anyone else to suffer from it. I give everyone I come across respect, no matter what nationality they are. But, when I do come across people, who display racial tendencies, and think they're going to make me a victim of it, I just ignore them, as long as they keep their distance. But when it happens, in a place of business, where I spend my money, I do not hesitate to report the incident to business management, as well as corporate, so they are aware, of what went down, when they were not around. This type of behavior, makes people stop patronizing an establishment, no matter how much they enjoyed going there, not to mention telling any and every one they know and meet, of the incident that occurred, which made them decide, not to patron a certain establishment, ever again.
The employee's name is amnay. The manager gave me his name, when asked. I also made it a point, to look at the employee's name tag, as I was leaving the store.
Wawa is one of my favorite stores, no matter which one I go into. I love your products. But I will never, tolerate this behavior, from anyone, anywhere, especially, where I spend my hard earned money. Each time i'm in center city philadelphia, I patron that store, and never, ever, has any employee, treated me this way.
I am politely, asking wawa corporate, to handle this matter swiftly. If I ever go into this location, or any wawa, ever again, and get treated like, what happened to me today, I will file a report with the bbb and make a public announcement, as to make people even more aware, of what happened to me when I went to wawa, and how it was, or was not handled.
Thank you very much, for your attention, to this very disturbing, disgusting, unethical behavior.
