Yankee Candle

I had purchased the Rose scented Yankee Candle votives for my home. I had candle holders that i have used numerous times in the past for both Yankee candle brand and other brands.
My most recent purchase of the votives was not pleasant. A short while after lighting the candle it turned the entire glass completely black and the candle exploded sending ash and black wax everywhere!
I am writing because i am concerned that someone may light one and have it explode around children or pets. Thankfully our pet was not harmed. The candles only cost about $10 i think for the pack, while a refund would be great - what i would really like is to warn people to be careful about where you light these votives so not to cause harm to your pet or child.
Please beware and take caution before buying this type of candle - we ended up having to throw out a lot of items that were ruined by the wax. (The glass candle holder, a holiday plate next to it, a hydro flax that became embedded with wax, our key holder, and a textured picture frame).
