On 6/3/2023 I went to Firestone at 1904 E Main Street in Spartanburg SC, Store 016225 I wanted to get tires rotated, oil changed and since I'd paid for LIFETIME Alignment I asked them to do that as well. I was told that both front wheel bearings were bad and I needed my brake fluid changed. The charge for those two things was going to be almost $1000.00. I have my tires rotated and oil changed every 3000 miles and for me that happens every other week. Since neither the brake fluid nor the wheel bearings were even mentioned at the previous visit I decided to get a second opinion.
I went to 2 very well known competitors of Firestone and didn't tell them what Firestone had said... Both places told me that there was absolutely no issues with my wheel bearings. Both said that brake fluid gets dirty and could be changed but it wasn't anything I needed to do right then. I also want to add that since I wouldn't allow Firestone to replace the wheel bearings... that didn't need replacing, they wouldn't do the alignment. So, if you pay extra for Lifetime Alignments at Firestone just know that unless they can charge you for unnecessary repairs you will not get your car aligned. I can't believe they wanted to charge me $798.98 to change wheel bearings that do not need changing. Beware of this store and I'm pretty sure this is the practice of most if not all Firestones. My invoice # is 157505
Desired outcome: I would like a refund for the LIFETIME ALIGNMENT I paid for. They are not to be trusted and I'll never have my vehicles serviced at that location or any other Firestone location.
