I had a root canal done on February 18, 2023, on a Saturday morning in Corpus Christi, Texas. The Doctor that performed the root canal was Dr. Ashraf Harhash.
He is out of Houston, Texas where he has his practice. I have Humana plus medicare and he was on my network plan.
The manager at Aspen Dental name is Kristen Chapa, she was no help at all. I waited about 3 hours that day, he would see at least two other patients also for root canals. He would make a trip once a month at Aspen to do root canals. Unfortunately, he didn't do the root canal correctly on me. A few months later I spoke with Humana to let them know and they were giving me the run around, then I would speak with several people from Aspen Dental and they would also give me the run around.
Turns out I had an infection on the # 14 tooth that Dr. Ashraf Harhash did.
I then had to see my dentist here where I live. They did an x-ray but could not show anything. Then she recommended me to go see Dr. Jared King dmd. which he was out of network. I did make an appointment to see him a week later. He took two exams of my #14 tooth and informed me I have an infection, which needed attention right away. I then had surgery to remove the infection. I have been fighting back and forth with Aspen Dental with no remorse or help. I have been through so much stress and pain. I need my money back. I had to dip into my savings account to pay for the surgery. The amount of $ 1,550.00 plus previous exams of192.06, total of $1,742.06.
I feel Aspen Dental is just out to make money. When is this going to stop, these big companies taking advantage of the patients. Humana is also to blame. They are very limited in doctors in my network.
Desired outcome: I want my money back.
Aspen Dental - Billing
My name is Brenda Mosley and I went to Aspen in Corpus Christi. Right away, billing signed me up for a company called American finance for 1400 dollars to be paid in 3 months which I did not know that. Now Iam paying 250 a pay chechkto get this paid by Aug the 8th. The second time I went over to Aspen they ran my insurance for more money 2000 And I called my insurance while I was there and they were told that they would cover all of my partial teeth, come to find out a month or so later they have not even filed a claim yet. They have gotten their money from the loan company and got me paying, when my insurance would have paid that. I"am in bad need of my money back. I live on a very low fixed income.517 a month. Iam borrowing money from the kids to pay this. My Dental insurance is Humana ID H78767452. For 3 mons. now they been saying computers are down
Aspen Dental - Did not work with my dental insurance
Date of service and payment was 05/09/2023. Debit card used for $165.
Corpus Christi, TX location [protected]
When I arrived for my appointment to get a denture repair I gave the receptionist my United Health Care Insurance Card. When it was my turn to go back into the lab, she said my Insurance did not cover repair. I paid $165 because it had to be done. While waiting outside, I called United Health Care to find out why they did not cover the denture repair. Their representative said that Aspen Dental had not even contacted them.
After I received my repaired denture, I informed the receptionist of what my Insurance Company had told me. She then said that Aspen contacted Insurance Companies "Electronically" and with no phone calls. Quickly it turned into a scene in the lobby in front of waiting patients. The staff were telling me all kinds of gobbleygook of why it could not be covered by my insurance. I showed the office manager a review that I was going to post on Google. The office manager loudly called me a Liar in front of waiting people, the staff and my wife.
Desired outcome: Refund
