H-E-B - Pharmacist

The Pharmacist gave covid vaccine to a white customer and sent out a tech to administer to two black customer waiting. Pharmacist not only gave the shot but also sat down and chatted with the white customer for several minutes. When white customer finally left and the younger black customer got up to enter, the pharmacist held up a finger and said one moment, turned to go behind the workstation, then tech came out to call in one of the black customer waiting. It did not take five minutes for tech to give both black customers the vaccine. When questioning the tech on where the pharmacist was, the answer given was that she had been on the phone and usually is the one that gives the shot and that the pharmacist only came out to help. This location was not busy, nor was there any customers waiting beside ourselves. In fact we could overhear the white customer stating she was late arriving to a schedule appointment for her second shot. I let the tech know I felt the pharmacist was rude in giving one and not the other the vaccine. Her actions clearly showed she did not want to have a hand in giving blacks service to the vaccine. We have to go back for the second doses and feel very anxious at this time in how the second shot will be handle. Can we trust that we will be administered the right vaccine at the right temperature, not something that is setting out on the shelf? Will we be treated as all customer are treated? Will submitting our experience to you hinder the fairness of customer service we were entitled? At this point we know that it will be their word, pharmacist and tech, against ours. We just wanted to let you know what happened and how we are dreading going back in July to complete the second vaccination. We want to be done as soon as possible with this ordeal. We weren't being over sensitive, every other person within the pharmacy counter was polite and customer friendly. The tech did offer us to speak with the pharmacist but I told her it was clear she did not want to be involved with us so I did not see it necessary to speak with her. A message was left on my voice mail from your automatic system asking how was my visit and hope that I would visit your pharmacy again. The experience left me doubtful.

Desired outcome: expect to be treated fairly & humanly as possible. expected pharmacist to administered vaccination, not a tech in training. If tech is the one that gives the vaccine, then it should have been given in that manner to all.
