I inquired online thru the recent "Employee pricing" that Chevy is advertising. I was directed to the local dealers within 50 miles of Austin. I checked 8 or 10 dealers and found a Tahoe Hybrid that was the color and had the features that I was looking for. I clicked the buttons on Saturday night, knowing it would be at least Monday before some responded.
I actually got emails back on Sunday from the Internet Sales Manager, saying that someone would be getting with me and sending me a quote. I got the quote on Monday. It had the based sticker price then the "e-price" after the Discounts and Incentives. This price was in the ball park of what I was looking for, so today (Tuesday) I made the call to the rep that sent the email and he said that they still have the vehicle. He then says the vehicle is 52000 sticker and 42000 after the "employee price" and "incentives are applied. I tell him that is not the price on the email that you sent me. He said, what do you have?
I tell him it's 36, 482. He said I will call you back in 10 minutes. 20 minutes later, he calls and said there's no way I can sell you that vehicle for that price. I said even if you sent it to me and I have the email right here with your quote? He said, no, then hung up on me.
I called the General Sales Manager. He said he would find out what's going on and there had better be a "damn" good reason for the "mistake/reason".
The Internet Sales Manager calls back and gives me the long, poor dealership story of we will lose $6000 if we honor the price that our employee made the mistake with. 15 minutes later of hearing his whining, I ended the conversation. I called back the talk to the General Sales Manager that should have gotten his "damn" good reason by then for him to tell me "sorry, we made a mistake, we are human..."
This dealership should be avoided at all cost. They will mislead you. I have never been on one of their sales lot and never will. I have little respect for car dealers in the first place because of the usual "bait/switch" sales methods but this is a whole new level. A consumer inquires on line, a dealer employee gives a quote, then they have the guts to say "oh, sorry...we made a mistake"
This is an unacceptable practice that no one should have to endure.
You've been warned about Covert Chevy. They also have other car brands with their name.

I have purchased 3 vehicles from this dealership and have never even thought of another dealership. I am always well taken care of promptly and respectfully. I would have to disagree. Maybe they did make an honest mistake.
