La Quinta Inns & Suites - Bugs in room

My brother booked me at this hotel for 4 nights beginning July 6th 2023 - July 10th through Hotels.com. The first room, #112, had dead bugs on the window sill and a view that was not exactly nice to look at. We went back down to the lobby for a room change and to tell them about the bugs. I mentioned to them, I'd like an upper room with a lake view. Got upstairs and the room, #333, was on the opposite side of the lake and there were bugs in the room. Again, we trekked back downstairs as the elevator closest to the lobby was down and will be for the time I was there.

I took pictures of the dead bugs and showed them to the staff. One was going to email that to the manager. Don't know if that was done or not. Our third trek to the lobby brought us to room #316.

Again, there were dead and dying bugs in the window sill and bugs crawling on the outside of the window. I left the following day, thinking housekeeping would clean my room and vacuum them up. I came back to no cleaned room and nothing but more dead and dying bugs accumulating on the sill. The evening was when they would be on the windows and coming in through the dirty window. On my way out that evening I asked why housekeeping hadn't been in to clean. The gal behind the desk said you need to request housekeeping and acted like I should've known this. There is no information in the rooms regarding anything what so ever about the hotel! She said she was going to put a work order in and I specifically said to clean up the bugs. When I got back to the room after being out the next day, the room was clean but the bugs were still there and more waiting to come in. I never once opened the window as the girl had implied.ac was on the whole time. The final straw was sitting in the bed with bugs flying at my face. Even more disgusting was finding a dead bug on the bottom of my water bottle that had been left on the nightstand. Plus, the phone did not work in my room, I used to use my cell phone to call the lobby. All I did the whole time I was there was complain about the bugs to my family. My brother felt so bad, he got me a room at another hotel for my last night. After being ignored multiple times by the hotel staff to get rid of the bugs, I left. When I checked out, the same guy who checked us in was there.

He said he was putting notes in the system. I do have photos and left a note in the window with the bugs for my file. I think La Quinta headquarters needs to be aware of this.

This was the worst stay I've encountered at a hotel, and being ignored for a simple request in removing the bugs! Heck, the staff that was there could've come up to vacuum them out instead of waiting for housekeeping.

Desired outcome: Maybe a little reimbursement to my brother since he paid for it
