Cracker Barrel - GM (Kurt) Cracker Barrel in Chester, VA. 23831

Date/Time of incident - Saturday, October 29, 2022, 9am (time requested to wait list) (seated 9:15am)

Full description of what exactly happened - Our party of 10 people used the online wait list in the name of Dabney for 9am. We were told only 6 max. for the wait list and when you arrive the additional 4 people can be added to the request. Two people arrived at 8:30am and checked in. Was told the entire party had to be present to be seated (no problem). 8:45am 2 more people arrived, followed by the remaining 6 at 8:57am. We were called to be seated at 9:15am (great). They asked for 1 person from the party to come to the desk around 8:59am and was told we had to set at 2 tables (5 each). The restaurant at the time of seating in the section was empty for a Saturday morning (see photos attached). As you see there were 4 tables empty in the area where when we were seated. Told by the GM (Kurt) (1st photo) we don't seat large parties together on Sat./Sun now. On numerous times, we have been at that same location with more than 10 and never a problem. This was a gathering of 3 families that overcame many obstacles and was celebrating new beginnings and accomplishments.

The main complaint is why separate tables when the area had plenty of empty tables at 9am. After we were seated, tables for 6 people had up to 7. The middle had a table for 6 and 4 that could have been put together. We also talked to many of the employees (of different nationalities) at this location and was told Kurt is very nasty to them, talks down to them and very rude. I did all I could not to elevate this at the restaurant and Kurt's tone of voice was unacceptable. The customers should be satisfied and there was no reason why our request was not granted. Being nasty to customers is the wrong choice and we never had to deal with this issue at this location; even when it's extremely busy on the weekends.

I want our party of 10 to receive an apology from Kurt by letter only and compensated with Cracker Barrel 3 gift cards (see individual receipts attached). One receipt was paid by cash and the family did not keep the receipt. The amount was $31.28.
