I want to report elder verbal abuse by another customer in line to cash out at approximately 6:30pm-7:00pm Saturday Oct 25, 2024. I had the manager summoned and she did nothing but tell me to step back and went behind register to help cashier. She was quite rude, disrespectful.
Below is summary of altercation:
There were 2 open registers. 2 custs together at ea cashing out. Mgr had been initially helping cashiers but left them. (cashiers still had same customers at register). I was talking to elder lady behind me for a good long while. Her husband and I both got a too well done meat patty. (They were at table next to us and I noticed her husband had same overdone meat patty I had}. She was going to talk to mgr as 2nd serving of his meat patty was still overdone. I just ate some of mine wasnt going to complain. We kept saying what is taking so long with this line, why. Her and I were next in line. A man standing back chimed in the cashiers were new. The 25 yr old turned to me said there were 2 of them paying and picking out a free ornament. I could wait my turn or leave. It escalated from there. Her language was vulgar and she wanted me to step outside. I called mgr and she told me to step back. Went behind register to help cashier. Said nothing. Did nothing. I wish I had had the foresight to of called police. I was so shocked. Im still shaking and upset and face burning. Mind you I am 75 yrs old.
Claimed loss: I am very distraught. At my age it was very mentally/emotionally harmful.
Desired outcome: Manager of Cracker Barrel needs management training or possibly a different position. She is not good with people/customers/staff.
