Yesterday, July 20, 2021, the framing department at this store had one computer for orders, and when I went in there, there was difficulty inputing an order for a couple, and as a result, a long line formed. There clearly was another computer, but we were told it wasn't set up for orders, so the rest of had to wait for our simple orders — me for glass replacement, and another woman to get a canvas stretched. We waited for 30-45 minutes. Then, I proceeded to another long line at checkout because I thought I was overcharged on frames that I had purchased earlier.
Earlier, I had purchased 4 frames of different sizes, buy 1 get 1 free. When I checked out, I received the discount on only 1 frame, but I didn't notice this until I got to my car, and I had to go home to get the picture that needed glass that I had forgotten to take with me in the first place.
Bethany who helped me at the checkout line went and pulled all the signs to show me that one of the frames was not included in this sale, so when I said I would return the 2 more expensive frames, one was hooked with the free frame. By this time, I was so disgusted with this entire process, that I returned my entire purchase, and left thoroughly disgusted by my entire experience in the Michael's store.
When I got home, I purchased all the same items online, and it was $40 less than in store. Is Michael's trying to put itself out of business? This is all on Michael's and no employee in this store. Why weren't both computers in the framing department operational for orders? Why were the same frames cheaper online?
Desired outcome: Once I pick up my picture tomorrow (hopefully) and receive the items I ordered online, it's going to be a good long while before I have anything to do with Michael's again.
