Michaels Stores Mixed Experiences at Michaels Arts & Crafts Store

As a frequent visitor to Michaels Arts & Crafts Store, I've had a mix of experiences. While some employees like Rupal at Bloomingdale location provided excellent service, there have been instances of poor customer service and rude behavior. The self-checkout system can be frustrating, especially for those who prefer human interaction. Issues with wrong items, unhelpful staff, and inventory inaccuracies have been reported. Despite occasional positive experiences, the overall consistency and quality of service seem to vary.

Michaels Stores deceptive advertising

4/20/2024 The store had signs outside as well as inside offering 25% off on all purchases reg and sale. I had seasonal items in my cart which were 70%off. I was not given the extra 25% off because I was told that was for internet orders. There was a bar code you could download for your internet orders. This info was in very small print on the bottom of the sign. Multiple times in the passed year I have tried to use a bogo sale only to find there were not 2 in stock and they could not or would order them in for me. Would not check another store to have it shipped. Multiple times trying to use a Michaels coupon in the Michaels store was told that the item I wanted to use it on was not a Michaels product. No signage anywhere stating it wasn't a michaels product. I feel that Michaels advertising is deceptive. I am an artist so in the past I have bought many supplies from them. If the coupons offered won't be honored Amazon is a much better bet. You know what you will receive free shipping and exactly how much you will pay. No guessing. I feel coned by Michaels.

Michaels Stores Mounting of a print

I brought in a print to have mounted. I paid $70.00 upfront. This was a way to get your money.

When I went to pick it up I had to unwrap the packaging to inspect it. There was black tape all around the print. The corners weren’t done properly and were bunched. They told me that I could take it off. When I started to do this I saw that part of the print was pulled on the side. The stretching wasn’t done properly because some white border of the print was showing at the top and bottom. I guess this was why they put black tape around it. There was someone there who redid the black tape because I complained that it was coming off. It took him about 10 minutes. He then told me not to keep it in a humid room. When I got home I had to keep pressing down on the tape to keep it stuck.

This is absolutely the worst job I every had done on a print. You should really get qualified people to work for you

Recommendation: Never get your prints done here.

Michaels Stores Spokane Valley WA

I dropped of a print, made in 1998, Kim Ko was the framer,we picked out a frame, had to have a custome mat done also, so we settled on a color, this was on a Wed, Thursday they called, picked it up this Morning, and man did she Knock it out of the Park, Beautiful job Kim did ! More than a happey camper. I would recommed Kim for frameing and matting if you need help this is the lady you need to see! I do not do reviews, but this time is diffenent I hope her maanger see's this review (raise time folks) Les Saunders

Michaels Stores Poor Customer Service and Unclear Signage at Michaels Stores

I recently visited Michaels Stores to purchase some RSTN Wood Stain Markers. As I was browsing through the markers, I noticed a sign above one of the colors, which I believe was walnut. However, the sign did not specify the color and only said RSTN Wood Stain Markers. As a result, I assumed that all colors were on sale, as the sign in the store clearly indicated.

When I went to the cashier to check out, I was informed that the walnut marker was on sale for $8.49, but the other colors were not. I was surprised by this information, as the sign did not specify the color and I thought all markers were on sale. The cashier then told me that the sign said walnut, but as I could clearly see, the sign did not say that.

I asked to speak to the manager, who was named Michael. He confirmed that the sale was only for the walnut marker and that the sign did say that. However, as I could see, the sign did not specify the color and was therefore confusing. Michael became very rude and raised his voice to me, refusing to acknowledge that the sign was unclear.

He even went so far as to say that it was disgusting of me to question the price and walked away from me, saying "I am a man." This was a direct quote and other customers heard him. I was shocked and disappointed by his behavior, as there was no attempt to provide customer service by any stretch of the definition of what that term means.

Overall, my experience at Michaels Stores was not a positive one. The confusion caused by the unclear sign and the rude behavior of the manager left a bad taste in my mouth. I hope that Michaels Stores will take steps to improve their customer service in the future.

Michaels Stores Michaels Stores: Shoddy Systems and Frustrating Customer Service

I recently ordered two sets of t-shirts from Michaels Stores, which I found on their website. I was excited to see that they had a promotion for same-day delivery, but unfortunately, I missed the cut-off time. However, I was still able to choose next-day delivery, which was fine with me. I placed my order and eagerly awaited my new shirts.

However, I was disappointed to receive an email later on saying that my order wouldn't be shipped until Monday. I was frustrated, but I decided to reach out to their customer service team via online chat. The representative I spoke with said that they would need to transfer me to elevated support to expedite the shipping. I spoke with the elevated support person, who apologized but said that they couldn't make any changes to my order once it was completed. I felt like I was wasting my time.

To make matters worse, I received an email on Sunday saying that my order had been cancelled. I was confused and frustrated, wondering why this had happened. The email listed three possible reasons for the cancellation: the item was out of stock, they couldn't ship to my location, or the minimum quantity wasn't met. I had no idea which reason applied to my order, and I didn't want to spend another 30 minutes on the phone with customer service to find out. Plus, I was worried that they would put another hold on my bank account for days.

It's disappointing to see a large company like Michaels Stores have such shoddy systems in place. It makes me wonder if the people in charge of these systems are qualified for their jobs. It's frustrating to have to play a guessing game to figure out why my order was cancelled. I feel like they're spinning a lucky wheel with multiple choice answers.

I'm not sure what my next steps will be. Time is valuable, and they've already wasted an hour and a half of mine. My advice to other buyers is to beware of this company. It's like flipping a coin and hoping for the best.

Michaels Stores Terrible Online Store Pickup Experience at Michael's: Incompetent Customer Service and Glitchy Website

I really like Michael's store and I used to go there pretty often to buy my craft supplies. However, I had a really bad experience shopping with them online for store pick-ups. The app and website are just terrible. I was shopping on the app and added some items to my cart to pick up at location #1. Later on, I went to the website on my computer and placed the order, but it switched the pickup location to location #2. I was really frustrated, but I checked their help page and it said that I could cancel pick-up orders by contacting customer service if needed. So, I placed a new order for the correct location #1.

Hours later, in the middle of the night, I received a notification that my location #1 pickup was cancelled for no reason. The next day, I contacted live chat and spoke to an agent who didn't seem to know what she was talking about. I explained to her multiple times that I wanted to cancel the location #2 pickup order, but she kept copy and pasting "we can send you a UPS label for a return" even though I told her three times that this was not a delivery order, it was for pickup. Then, she kept saying that they couldn't cancel orders even though Michael's own help page said it was possible. She got confused about the two orders and kept saying that one was cancelled, which was obvious, but it wasn't the one I wanted cancelled. She then told me that it was cancelled because of a payment verification issue, even though both orders used the same exact payment info and the other order wasn't cancelled. I was so frustrated that I closed the chat and reordered with PayPal, and thankfully, I didn't have any issues.

If you have any issues with your store pickup order, don't bother dealing with Michael's agents. They don't seem to know what they're doing and just copy and paste information. I was really angry because the agent wasn't listening to me. It seems like the company is maximizing incompetence and yet I'm still paying them for this crap. Also, the pickup location was at Atlantic Ave in Brooklyn NY. I run a small business from home and I don't have time for this kind of nonsense. I don't like Amazon, but this is why people flock to them; the incompetence of these companies lets big retailers like Amazon thrive.

Michaels Stores Frustrating Experience with Michaels Stores: Online Order Cancellations and Poor Customer Service

So, I had a pretty frustrating experience with Michaels Stores recently. I placed an order online to pick up in-store, and was told I would receive an email with pick-up instructions once my order was ready. However, I never received that email, so I contacted customer service through the online chat option. The woman I spoke to told me my order had been cancelled because I never picked it up, but I explained that I never received the pick-up email. She resent the order and another confirmation email, but when I went to the Ann Arbor-Arborland store with my email, they told me they never received my order. The manager called customer service and found out the order had been cancelled again.

I was pretty frustrated at this point, but it got worse. The canvases I had ordered were out of stock, and when I brought this to the attention of the manager, she laughed at me and said they were popular. I had ordered them a month ago, so I was understandably upset. I stormed out of the store and called customer service again, but they were no help. I decided to try ordering from another store, but my order was cancelled again because the canvases were out of stock.

Finally, on my third attempt, I found the items I needed at a store in Southgate, MI. They were more than kind and went above and beyond to help me, but I was still livid with my overall experience. I had ordered the items a month in advance, and there was no reason I should have had to scramble to find them at the last minute. The Michaels website and online order system have so many flaws, and it seems like no one in the company communicates with each other.

I love the products at Michaels, but this experience has me questioning whether I will purchase items from them again. It's frustrating to have such a negative experience with a company that I have previously enjoyed shopping at. I hope Michaels can improve their online ordering system and customer service so that others don't have to go through what I did.

Michaels Stores Michaels' Terrible Customer Service and False Advertising

I went to Michaels on January 22nd to get a frame for my canvas. Victoria told me that they didn't have the pieces in the store and that it would take two weeks to get them. She said that I needed to pay for it first, so I did. I asked if I could leave the canvas the following Saturday, and she said that I could even pick it up the day before the two weeks were up. So, I left the canvas and went home. When I called on Monday for an update, the woman said that it was in process and that I would receive a call. I called again on Thursday to see if I could pick it up on Saturday, but the gentleman who answered the phone asked if I had left the canvas. I was confused and asked if they had lost it. He said no and that it would be ready on Monday or Tuesday. I was upset because it was supposed to be ready on Saturday, but he said they were short-staffed. I said that I would call on Monday to make sure it was ready because a client was waiting for it. He said it would be done.

I went to pick it up on Tuesday, and the same gentleman who took my canvas couldn't find it. He asked for help, and it took them 45 minutes to find it. When they did, it wasn't even done! I asked for my money back, and it took another 10 minutes to get it. They didn't even try to do it at the time. The employee who helped look for it said sorry, but the gentleman who actually works in the department said nothing. It was the worst experience ever. I expected more from a store that is so expensive in the first place. The most surprising thing is that they had a sign that said "Frames same day." What a joke! It was a complete waste of time, and I had a super bad experience.

Michaels Stores Michaels Online Order Nightmare: Slow Shipping, Damaged Items, and Multiple Charges

I go to Michaels all the time, it's my go-to for all my crafting needs. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and I can usually find everything I need. However, I recently decided to try ordering online and it has been a nightmare. Michaels uses Lasership for their shipping, and let me tell you, it's not great. I placed orders over a week ago and Lasership still hasn't received them. And when I did receive some items, they were all damaged. I ordered Lemax Christmas Village items, which are not cheap, and they looked like they had been used as a store's floor model. Half of the pieces were broken off, and it was clear that they were defective. I don't think this is Lasership's fault, I think Michaels is shipping out returned items or damaged items. And to make matters worse, most of these items are now sold out online, so I can't even get a replacement. Michaels has no answers for me, and I'm worried I won't get these items until close to Christmas. I wish they hadn't marked it as "shipped" when they haven't shipped it, as this prevents me from canceling the order and just going to the store to get it myself.

Another issue I had was with multiple charges on my credit card. I placed all my orders using a credit card, and I have been charged 2-3 times for everything. When I contacted customer service about a damaged item, they refunded me by charging me again! It's a sketchy company, and I'm out close to $400 in extra charges that I never authorized. I'm grateful I used a credit card, as my card company will protect me. I would never recommend using a debit card for online purchases, you never know what might happen. Maybe try Joann's or Hobby Lobby instead, to avoid the hassle I've been through.

Overall, I still love going to Michaels in person, but I won't be ordering online from them again. The shipping is slow and unreliable, and the quality of the items I received was unacceptable. Michaels needs to do better if they want to keep customers coming back.

Michaels Stores Terrible Customer Service Experience at Michaels in Guelph: Rude and Unprofessional Staff

I had a really bad time at Michaels in Guelph. I was trying to find a plain black photo album online, but I couldn't find one. So, I decided to call the store and ask if they had it in stock. When I explained my situation, the woman on the phone told me to order it online. I told her that I had already looked online and couldn't find it, and I just wanted to know if they had it in stock. She didn't say anything and just left the phone. I waited for 5 minutes, but she didn't come back. So, I hung up and continued to look online. Finally, I found it and ordered it at 2:30 PM. I got a confirmation email that said I would get another email when my order was ready for pickup. I was supposed to pick it up from a bin outside the store because of Covid-19.

I waited for half an hour, but I didn't get an email. So, I decided to drive to the store at 3:00 PM. I thought I would have to wait for about half an hour, but I ended up waiting for an hour and a half in my car. I called the store to ask about my order, and the woman on the phone was very rude. She told me that I should have waited for an email and that they were very busy. I apologized and said I didn't know how long it would take. I waited for another half an hour, but I still didn't get an email. So, I called again at 5:30 PM, and they told me my order was ready. I was confused because I didn't get an email. When I got to the store, the woman who had been rude to me before was there. She was very patronizing and rude to me again. She told me to wait in my car until she was back inside. I was shocked by her behavior.

I have never been treated like this by anyone, especially someone in customer service. I have worked in customer service my whole life, and I know that some people can be difficult, but there is no excuse for this kind of behavior. Michaels in Guelph needs to take a serious look at who they hire because this was unacceptable.

Michaels Stores Michaels Review: False Advertising, Poor Customer Service, and Shipping Nightmares

I was in need of some painting supplies and decided to check out Michaels, even though I usually order from $#*! Blick. I was drawn in by the spectacular discounts advertised, especially the "doorbuster" sale with a very limited time frame. I ordered several canvas packs and a number of tubes of paint, but filling out the order was extremely difficult. I kept encountering issues such as having to pick up a particular color in-store (not available for over sixty miles), items being out of stock (although not indicated on the description page), or having to order multiples of four sets to get the advertised price. Additionally, what was supposed to be free shipping had an "oversize surcharge" added.

Despite these difficulties, I finally managed to fill the order and submitted it early Friday morning. However, over an hour later, I received a confirmation email that listed every single item at the full price, not what was on the order page I submitted. I was sure it was a small issue, so I shrugged it off and went on with my day.

Later that afternoon, I received another email saying "Yay, your order is on its way" with two tracking numbers that UPS had NO RECORD of. I was amazed at the fast service, EXCEPT it was a lie.

I called customer service twice and received confusing answers both times. The agents were also very rude to me, treating me as if I had no right to question their practices. I called again when I received an email SIX DAYS later saying one of the canvas packs was out of stock and I was out of luck. If I had paid with my debit card, I had to call my bank and sort it out. By this point, I was livid, and when I looked closely at the order confirmation they'd sent, THEY HAD NOT GIVEN ME A SINGLE ONE OF THE HALF OFF OR OTHER DISCOUNTS I WAS PROMISED. They "may" or more likely may not refund me the ten dollars for the out of stock item, but will not refund me the oversized item charge because even though Michaels had charged me for it and submitted it as part of the total to my bank, it was "not our charge, it was a charge by the shipping company (UPS surepost) and I'd have to take it up with them.

By this point, my blood pressure was in the danger zone, so I decided to just let it go. I can't risk having a stroke over this, and I have absolutely no belief that calling them again will do a single thing to correct any of the multiple outrages.

Bottom line: I just ordered the same items Michaels charged me for and will not deliver for almost exactly the same prices they were charging, from $#*! Blick. Even better, I got free shipping, and if my past experiences with $#*! Blick are anything to go by, my complete order from them will be here well before I ever get all my stuff from Michaels. And IF there is any problem at all with that order, I know the customer service rep will be pleasant and helpful, and the problem will be cheerfully resolved. My advice to you is DO NOT ORDER FROM MICHAELS UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE RIPPED OFF AND GIVEN A HUGE BRUSH OFF. Wish I had bothered to check for actual customer reviews before I ordered from them.

To make matters worse, they shipped my order from three different places. Two tubes of paint supposedly from the store near me (it was not), two from a store several states away, and the rest of the order apparently from the other side of the country. It was a complete mess.

Michaels Stores Mixed Experience Shopping at Michaels Stores: Website Issues, Discount Problems, and Damaged Goods

I've been shopping at Michaels Stores (michaels.com) for a while now and overall, I've had a good experience. However, there are a few issues that I find unacceptable.

Firstly, their website can be quite slow and sometimes it takes me to other pages than the ones I clicked on. On two occasions, my shopping basket was emptied for no reason, even though the contents had remained there for days on a previous order. This can be frustrating, especially when I've spent all day choosing items.

Secondly, I've had to ask for my senior discount to be applied on most orders, as it wasn't automatically added. I had to do this on live chat, which isn't open 24/7. Although there was a message saying that there might be a long wait, I didn't have to wait at all. However, some of the chat people were resistant to giving me my discount, but they eventually applied it without any argument.

Thirdly, my orders have been sent quickly, but in dribs and drabs from different Michaels stores. I've even received just one strand of beads by itself more than once. This doesn't bother me too much, but what does is the lack of care some staff have shown in sending me obviously damaged goods. I ordered some packs of metal charms with words on them, but they arrived with one missing off the card they were attached to, another pack with discolouration and deep scratches on others, and other packs with scratches and/or blemishes on the metal. When I wrote a review about this on Michaels website, it was rejected with the reason shipping/fulfilment given. I resubmitted it and removed the part where I said I wouldn't have bought them if I'd seen them in person and if I worked for Michaels I wouldn't have sent them to a customer. However, the review still hasn't been published. I don't like the suppression of the truth about how some of the orders are handled in this way. I also received a broken strand of beads. They were all there, but I would still prefer them to be strung like they are supposed to be and attached to the card for storage until I'm ready to use them instead of rolling around loose. It's not very professional and these issues look like they want to fob off customers with damaged goods they wouldn't buy if they saw them in person. I now have the inconvenience of returning the metal charms, and instead of using usps, which will collect parcels from my house, they expect me to take the items to either a Michaels store or ups, neither of which are near me, when it has been their 'mistake'. This issue with being deliberately sent damaged goods which I now have the inconvenience of returning and the suppression of my review about it is what has brought my rating down to a 3 star from a 4.

On a positive note, I added a few items to one of my online orders as a store pickup because one of the items was only available in stores. However, I couldn't get to their store, so I went on live chat to cancel that part of the order, and I was given an immediate refund. I have paid for everything with paypal.

Lastly, I've bought mostly beads for 60% off their marked prices and have been happy with the beauty and quality of most of them and also with how quickly I have received the orders. However, I would advise checking everything either before you buy it or when you receive it if you've bought it online. Since writing this review yesterday, I have received another part of my order. There were supposed to be 12 different charms on chain attached to the card/tag. Of the 7 sets I received of the same item, only 4 were correct and complete. Two sets were missing a charm entirely so only had 11 each, and the other set had 12 charms but one was a duplicate so one of the charms was missing from the set.

Michaels Stores Unsatisfied with Michaels Stores' Shipping Services: A Review

I'm not happy with Michaels Stores (michaels.com) and won't be shopping there anymore. I spent a lot of money on yarn and ordered it online, but I didn't receive any notice that my shipment was delayed. Some of the yarn I ordered was listed as available, but then it was suddenly taken off my order and became unavailable. Michaels contacted me by email, but I don't have time to go through 2000 emails a day. They text me their specials, and I have their app, but they still chose to cancel part of my order without letting me know. I could have gotten a different color if I had known. I received a package in my mailbox yesterday, but it only had one skein of yarn, and I don't know how many I bought. Don't they send it all out in one order? I'm very unsatisfied with their company and won't be doing business with them anymore. I have no idea where the rest of my order is, and I only received one order number. Apparently, it doesn't all come as one, which I think is ignorant and useless because I don't know what I will receive or what I won't. Thank you, but I don't want any more offers from them. I will also post this on their online site so others are aware of how slow and horrible their shipping services are!

Michaels Stores Advertising items clearance an not having in stock

I am getting a LOT of ads for Lemax Christmas houses on my computer. I purchased over $300 worth for my granddaughters for Christmas. So when I saw the clearance prices I wanted to buy for next Christmas. So, I clicked on ad and it would not let me order any. So contacted customer service an they checked it out an told me they were out of stock till NEXT Christmas. and of coarse then they will be full price. I had them check on several houses an even asked them to tell ME what houses were available. At that point they stopped communicating with me. To me this is false advertising. Michaels Stores Hanukkah decorations hiding in the back per corporate

I was appalled when walking around the whole store that there was NO Hanukkah decorations on display. I always shop for Hanukkah at your location in Atlanta. Now you are hiding them in the back? Is it because you are anti-Semitic. I normally do not participate in boycotting but your business is in serious need of one. Michaels Stores Account setup

I am unable to establish an account online for my mother. She purchased a roll of yarn and paid cash for it and signed up for an account in order to get a discount. She got a bill in the mail on her credit card and doesn't know how to pay it. When I went to the web site. I was unable to establish an online account because of a mixup with her email address and password. I do not know how to contact anyone who can help me.

Michaels Stores Product named Satin Ice cookie coloring

We purchased Satin Icing at your location in The Crossing in Corona, CA. Every time we go to this location the staff is wonderful. Always willing to help. This not about them or Michaels. Just one of your products,

Satin Ice we bought 3 plastic bottles. This stuff is horrible. All 3 bottles expire in 12/24. The white bottle had been open or made it out with the white sealing cover and was all dried out. Orange and red bottles were fine after shaking for a long time but never did harden after 10 minutes. Maybe time to look for a new supplier?

Not upset over this as we had the little white dots that we could melt that worked fine.

Just wanted to let you know. In all of the years we have purchased things from Michaels, our first product fail. Not bad for over 40 years.

Michaels Stores On 7/22/23! I paid $9.99 +Driver Tip of $3.37 for same dat delivery.

7/22/23 Order #[protected] was never received. I called Michaels at East Center, Montgomery, AL. Was referred to Michaels Corp, [protected]. Told to call Instacart, [protected]. I was promised delivery by 8pm. Result: no show. 7/23/23 I called Instacart 3 times. (1)delivery between 11-2pm; (2) 3pm told 2 more hours; (3)told to cancel order.

Desired outcome: Instacart said 7 to 10 days before I get a refund. I would appreciate an explanation as to why this happened and an apology for the lack anyone taking ownership and follow up resulting in a positive outcome.

Michaels Stores Helium tank

The Michael's in Falls Church refused to return a helium tank I purchased, because the box was opened. I had to open the box to find out that the helium tank did not work! The store manager even said that the tank felt light. They sold a defective product, but would not refund the money I paid. Michael's lost a lifelong customer and is getting bad reviews over $36. That does not seem logical.
