On wednesday january 13, 2021 I went to my local bank of america located @ 7407 ne highway 99 vancouver, washington 98665 I went in and deposited a insurance check that I get every two weeks and have deposited many times in the past, except the last time I made the deposit, I question the hold time with the teller and she got the manager who basically just shrug me off with a bad attitude. So this time when I went in to make the same deposit, the same manager saw me and gave me a dirty look and I just ignored him and did my business. When I handed the teller my check deposit she handed me back a receipt and told me there would be a 2 day hold and my funds would be available on friday the 15th. I said thank you and left. The next day when I got online to check my account I noticed the hold was extended to 10 days and my funds wouldn't be available until january 23rd after 5pm. And now all my bills will be late and I had to cancel all my reoccurring payments going out to stop any over draft charges and i'm furious because there's no good reason or explanation to why they would do this except for some bad intentions! And when I called them they refuse to give me a reason why this was done. I believe the manager of this branch is racist, biased and because of my dealings with him in the past, he's doing this out of spite. I will be looking for a new bank once this check clears and will not be doing business with a bank that does not care about its customers.
Desired outcome: Change the hold time

I have the same issues. I do think the hold time is not necessary. In m k case the check I received is from someone I worked with closely . I called Bank of America and they have me all kind of excuses why the funds needed to be held for 8 days. The person who issued the check said that the funds were already withdrawn from her account. I called Bank of America and asked them who had the money hence it was not I'm my account nor in the senders bank account. So who has my money, ? Now they are saying the ACH . No written notice from the ACH stating why they need to hold moneys for more than 48hrs. It's not their money. I THINK THE SOLUTION IS MOVE TK A BANK WHO RESPECT THEIR CLIENTS.
