O'Reilly Auto Parts - returning a non used item with original sales receipt purchased with a debit card.

I'm in disbelief outrageous a company well known auto parts store refused to refund my money of $19.99 stating that it was published with debit card on Aug 18th and it will only be refunded back to the debit card that was used to purchase the item?
Problem is i dont own the particular debit card as it was a one of those prepaid gift kind debit cards, that unfortunately i no longer own! So what am i to do? I have the original sales receipt and it has not been longer than 30 days since purchase nor the item has been opened or used !
I would really appreciate some feedback on said issue! As it is not right! Anything purchased by a debit card is always is counted as cash purchase always by every retalier i know!
Please some help!
