We scheduled in July for a vacation in October. Hurricane Heleen hit our area the last week of September and because we didn't take out vacation protection, they screwed us out of our trip. We made multiple calls, and they couldn't give any answers and after multiple calls, we have no choice but to cancel. They wouldn't offer a voucher or any part of a refund when we had no power and lost all the food we had on hand. They are not easy to deal with.
Thank you for your comment. We actually disputed the credit card charge but Vacasa provided limited evidence that made it appear that we waited until 10/3 to "just cancel' which was far from the truth. I'll try headquarters and see if I can gain further assistance.
It is quite shameful how Vacasa isn’t willing to show any compassion after the devastation a hurricane leaves behind. Reach out to the headquarters of the company and request reprieve on the grounds of such unprecedented situations and them assisting you in none. Alternatively, if they are not accommodating, you might also want to approach your credit card provider complaining about the charge. Please help prove that your plans were disrupted by a hurricane which made travel impossible. Vacasa’s actions are totally unacceptable but don’t let them take advantage of your problem without a struggle.
