We rented a vacation property from
Vacasa. It is located at 111 Noble Road in Fairview, NC. Hurricane Helene devastated Western NC-including the Fairview community where the rental is located.
Trees were down, there was widespread flooding, businesses and tourist attractions were closed. In short-it was no longer a feasible or desirable place to celebrate my wife’s retirement with our family.
I spoke with Vacasa representatives on several occasions, and asked for a full refund based on these factors. Each time I was told to wait until closer to the rental dates and call back. We have been unable to rent another property since our funds are tied up with Vacasa.
In addition, the property listing advertises a “mountain view”, which was the primary reason we decided to rent this property for my wife’s retirement celebration. This was very misleading.
The listing only includes one photograph of the “mountain view”. It does not show the large trailer park below the house. You must look past these unsightly mobile homes to see the far away mountains.
We would like a refund due to the fact that:
1) the tourist destination we planned to visit was devastated by the hurricane, and
2) the homeowner misrepresented the mountain view description by not providing accurate photographs depicting the large trailer park behind the house.
Claimed loss: $1,585.11 rental paid in full
Desired outcome: Full refund
